Video Manual: How to Use the Soda Dungeon 2 App

How does it Work?

Your favorite fizzy dungeon crawler is back! The Dark Lord has locked all sorts of legendary items, loot, and goodies up in his castle behind a seemingly endless guard of monsters, traps, and treachery. Daunting? Not for you— You’ll be safe in the tavern hiring Soda Junkies to do the dirty work for you. Take the loot they bring back to upgrade your tavern, town, and armory to attract stronger adventurers, then repeat. Build your town, assemble a mighty team, and see if you can make it through the dungeon to the next dimension and beyond.

Along the way your band of merry, soda-fueled minions will encounter trumpeting skeletons, angry chefs, Dark Lords, Darker Lords, and a fairy that is just really, really trying her best. The only thing they won’t find is timers, lives systems, or a paywall. Everything can be bought with in-game currency because that’s just the Soda Dungeon way.

Custom AI Patterns! - Sick of dumb-as-rocks NPC allies? We are too. Create custom behaviors for you party using Soda Script! Even when you're not looking over their shoulders they're doing exactly what you want.

Craft Gear - Craft new armor and weapons for the adventurers you hire. Find rare materials deep within the Dark Lord's castle to make all new items.

Play While AFK - Have a life outside Soda Dungeon? No problem. Earn Battle Credits while you’re away and redeem them for loot when you come back. Even when you're not playing, you're gathering resources!

Build Your Home Base - Assembling the best party will take more than a tavern this time around. Build a blacksmith forge, a wizard’s shop, an arena, and more to unlock your party’s true potential.

Always More To Do - We heard you. You wanted more mountains to climb. You wanted more goals to accomplish. You... wanted to help people clear rodents from their property ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Lucky you, because the NPCs in Soda Dungeon 2 are ready to cough up strangely valuable rewards in exchange for completing an assortment of side-quests!

If you find yourself asking 'What's a Soda Dungeon' This is the section for you!

Soda Dungeon is a turn-based dungeon crawler where you recruit a team of adventurers to raid dungeons on your behalf. With the loot they find you’ll build up your town, attract better heroes, and find out just how deep the dungeon-hole goes.

Experiment with Confidence - Mix and match classes, try out loads of gear, and send them off to fight. But fear not, everyone comes home safe with all your hard-earned loot. Defeat is just part of the game :)

Free and Fair - Everything can be earned with in-game currency. No loot boxes. But if you want to level up a little faster, we may have some special upgrades for you to peruse.

Cross-Platform Play - Play on your mobile phone, tablet, or Steam and take your save file with you wherever you feel like playing. We’re told it’s in “the cloud”.

Optional Auto-Combat - Feeling lazy? We get that. Set up your party, flip on the auto-combat and let the spoils of battle roll in. You deserve a break.

    Best sequel of all time

This game is a lot better than the original but you still get the same feeling of enjoyment while you play it with the fun new characters and the monsters all have a fun and goofy look ,from an oversized pig to a celestial gladiator to have some cool looking boss fights or have super sayin soda junkies that look epic and goofy but not so goofy where it’s unnecessary. And the small details like the look of the tavern when you upgrade the interior and the battle points you can get they can auto run stages you have already completed and the items in the blacksmith shop where you can craft thing’s that you can only get from there. And the music is totally bogus which really gives the game the great retro fell as if your playing Pac-Man of Tetris. this Is truly a game for the books of fame or what not and if you don’t believe me try it out it’s free after all unlike the first one. So have fun screw around and maybe fight a skeleton with a trumpet.

Excellent Hands On and Off Game

I don’t usually write reviews but I have to give credit where it’s due This game is extremely fun, and very successful with its auto battling use. The difficulty progression is well balanced where you might be over powered enough to skip a 100 levels or so but losing your top tier gear to progress the story is used well to rebalance you each dimension. Most characters are each useful in a unique way ( I havnt found much use for mystic yet honestly) and gain abilities as they level up so strategy’s are always evolving. Crazy improvement over the original soda dungeon which was also a hit for me. Love the bits of dialogue, it’s not too much but it’s quippy and tight and manages to give the world some character without really slowing anything down. Not done with it, but already looking forward to future updates that add content. Oh and the music for the kitchen fight levels. Absolutely perfect. Great job guys

    Great Addition to Soda Dungeon

Soda Dungeon 2 is an app that I have been anticipating for a while now. However, as with all apps, I had my doubts. Usually remakes are simply adding one or two features and are created to steal money from users through ridiculous in app purchases. This is not the case with Soda Dungeon 2. Soda dungeon was a cult classic and Soda Dungeon takes that legacy and multiplies it 100 fold. Not only is the art, gameplay, and styles the same, but the creators managed to expand a simple concept into something that is multidimensional. If you have not played Soda Dungeon, jumping into Soda Dungeon 2 is completely fine, as the developers have taken the time to create this game for all audiences. This game is great due to its immense detail, from the pixel art to the new Ambush mechanics. Soda dungeon 2 certainty is not a disappointment, and deserves all of the hype.

    Fantastic Game!

I played the original soda dungeon a few years back, after looking at the game, I thought it looked cool, and gave it a download. What a great idea that was. The game had lots of content, the ability to remove ads with coins, with not much grinding, and it was an overall great time. When I heard about a sequel I was excited, but skeptical. Was this next game going to live up to its predecessor? So I downloaded this game when it came out, and on steam, played it a bit.. and I can say, this game for sure lives up to the hype! It adds new aspects and improves upon aspects of the previous game, and maintains the non-intrusive IAP, and the ability to remove adds with coins, permanently. So if you are looking for a fun game to play and your bored, definitely give this one a download!

    I love this game

This is an amazing sequel to the first soda dungeon, me and a friend used to leave that game running for hours upon hours while we played basketball or something. about 2 weeks ago I was scrolling through the AppStore and saw THIS, I texted a screenshot to my friend and we both instantly got it. I was so freaking exited and when I launched it... it lived up to every possible expectation I could think of, I beat the story in a week. My only problem is the lack of content once you reach the WD. There is nothing to strive for other than an endless grind, could we have events or PvP in the arena? maybe a leaderboard? If we could get all this I would give the game 5 stars, and if it was possible 6

    I love this series

This was one of the first non run mobile games I was ever into and it started with the first when I was nine. It gave me something to play not only on the way to school but in free time to because I didn’t have much. Seeing a second one made now is so amazing. I’m just putting this here to say thanks to the devs for making a sequel to my favorite childhood mobile game and easily the best game to me on the App Store at that time. This is amazing to see with all the new crappy game at the top of the free list and just what the people now are making in general. I know this wasn’t really a real review but thank you on behalf of me and so many others.

    Great game, 1 minor fix

Way too hooked to Soda Dungeon, super fun. The game is clever and humorous, while still having a feeling of progression without timers and the ads are there, but most are optional and not in your face. My one gripe, is when you are selling items and you scroll to the bottom to sell junk you are never going to use, after you sell an item, can you please leave the selected item pointer at the bottom, because eventually I am going to be selling a bunch of junk and I am going to click too much and sell my best gear. I will update to 5 stars if this is changed! Thank you, and have a great day!

Just the best game not a cash grab

The game does not pressure you into making purchases and rarely even shows you adds that you don’t want to watch in general the best part of this game is the design and the little details for example on the cooking area (can’t remember the exact name or floor number) I saw them cooking a rat in the stew and I loved it and how the mini bosses/bosses actually looked good, I really like it’s not a cash grab like many other games are and how it does not push you to make a purchase if you are a free to play player you can easily accomplish what a paying player can do All in all an amazing game

Played the first game and the fun and feeling never wore away.

This game is a gem of the mobile game genre. The first game is unrivaled as my top 3 favorite games on any platform of all time. While this game is overwhelmingly amazing, it doesn’t have the exact same feel as the original. Now hear me out, you can’t one up perfection, but this game comes close by adding new mechanics that improve the QOL of the game. Many systems are different than the original, although not worse. No game will ever come close to the experience of the first game, but this game is definitely a solid 9.7/10. Thank you for this masterpiece.

    A Light For Mobile Games

This game is a God send and we all needed a great mobile game that treats the players correctly and this game nailed it! I’ve always been a fan of rouge-like RPG’s and this has to be one of my top favorites. The grinding in this game isn’t that tedious when it comes to grinding, but there is a reason why I’m giving it 4/5 stars. The end game after dimension 10 isn’t perfect. What I mean is, grinding for the legendary gear doesn’t feel all that much powerful from the rare gear. It pretty much doubles the damage but there’s nothing much else that’s special that makes it legendary. Also if it does t have a gem socket, it’s pretty much useless to me, in my opinion. Other than this minor inconvenience, this game is more than a great game.

    It’s Okay.

I really enjoyed the first game and hearing about the second I was pretty excited so when I finally downloaded the game and played it for the first few minutes... I was both happy and disappointed. I liked it because of all the new aspects that were added like having a team of six, the new music for every different area, all the new creatures and bosses,But in my opinion it doesn’t measure up to the OG and I know that’s hard but I think lots of the new aspects like crafting and different buildings were all introduced really fast and so after playing for (note) only and hour I’ve come to the conclusion... It’s okay not as good as the OG, but it’s pretty alright needs a little work though.

    It’s okay

It’s an okay game in my opinion however it doesn’t have the same feel or look as the original like the hit and crit sounds are so bland in this game while in the original when you hit a crit it was amazing the new mechanics are also really weird without needing to be and the music is the absolute worst aspect of the game in the original soda dungeon every area got different music and you could warp to any level at anytime after unlocking the wizard but in this you need to go to warrior level? But I digress it’s an okay game if it was the original and if the original soda dungeon was this game it would be a lot better however the mechanics of the game the music and the designs of this sequel are a bit lackluster compared to the original (I also say this with having over 300 hours in the original soda dungeon. But otherwise okay game not worthy of being considered a sequel though.

Love the game. Amazing. Get it now. ONE STAR

Can’t say enough about how awesome thus game is. Every five star review totally justified. The fact of the matter is though it’s unplayable as currently designed because the app will “reset” if you minimize it, sometimes in seconds. Sometimes in minutes. Sometimes never. So in order to go through hundreds of levels you have to leave your device on, window active, for literally hours at a time. Now developers I realize this is an IOS and Apple... let’s say... feature. But it doesn’t happen with music apps. So either program the game to handle it or allow better active saving. So frustrating to have a game experience ruined because it is designed to the games own weakness. Did you happen to work on Neverwinter nights? Moving six characters though a dungeon single file. Yeah let’s develop maps that emphasize even more how awful the games one weakness is! Argh.

    Disappointing

The story in this game is utter garbage compared to the first game. Now it just feels like the player is the punchline of a very bad joke on the standard rpg formula. You didn’t even come up with anything new (Spoiler warning) The dark lords being fused into one evil dark lord is the exact same story we played in SD1, but you just copied and pasted that concept on the new game, only you made the bosses lame and stupid instead of actually making them remotely imposing. And 3 of the bosses (Dark Lady, Darker Lord, Darkest Lord) are just recolors of the first boss with mediocre movesets. At least the first game forces you to use nurses to heal that one boss since it’s undead, instead of this game letting idiots try to use 6 darkmages like that’s not stupid. This needs a lot of work, and maybe even a little bit of post-game content. Like for example, where is our lair of despair?
