    I ABSOLUTELY LOVE this game!

Do you enjoy watching thrillers or crime investigations? Do you enjoy reading about investigations? What about that feeling of suspense that puts you on the edge of your seat? Then this game just might be for you! I can’t express it enough how much I enjoy this game! It’s so realistic, and captures the reader’s attention as if you are actually having these conversations. I feel like I am actually a part of the storyline, at times I forget that these aren’t real people or real conversations. I wish there was an option to change your gender and name. I feel like if I could change it to my gender and my name, it would feel more realistic. Aside from that, I really enjoy this game and I just started playing today. I get so into these conversations and once I run out of stars, I want to continue getting more stars so I can continue playing. I still cannot believe how realistic it is. From the texting, the photos, videos, documents you send, and the phone calls! It’s currently my favorite mobile phone game! I definitely recommend it to anyone who is interested in games where you can make choices, and see how the story ends up. I have three children and hardly ever get some time to myself. Playing this game is a nice way for me to relax and decompress at the end of the day.

    Just Finished the Game

I played through to the end. A bit of an abrupt ending but overall I enjoyed the game. You don’t really do a lot of the sleuthing, just read the texts and reply and the game plays out in front of you. I hoped there’d be a bit more chance and guesswork involved, but I imagine that takes a lot more coding. You get photos and videos which I thought would have clues in them, but they really don’t. Maybe one kind of does. I won’t spoil it. I like the hacking games. In fact, I played this through to the end because I enjoyed those. Many were challenging and I thought I was stuck several times but pushed through and made it to the end. If you like puzzles, it’s a good game. If you don’t, you’ll hate it. Overall a good game. I had actually pegged someone else entirely as the serial killer. I just wish there was a second scenario. Now that it’s done I want more!

    Beat the game

I’m a very average person and I beat the game. I say this because I read a lot of reviews of people saying it’s impossible. I put $5 into the game because I was so close to beating one of the mini games and was out of lives (didn’t want to wait). I admit, I was stuck on some of the mini games for days and I would try some of them maybe 20-30 times before passing. This challenge kept me intrigued. The story was great, I like that there were moments that you could say something depending on your relationship status with the characters. Without the mini game, I probably would have gotten bored or would have finished it too quickly. All in all I really enjoyed this game and I am pretty sure this is the first phone game that I’ve ever beat/finished.

    So fun!

Exactly what I was looking for in a simulated crime game! It feels so real. Also there’s no ads, which is the biggest plus!!! Edit: the game often gives you two options to pick between when responding. I have noticed now more than five times that the AI responds as if I picked a different response. For example: I recently had to pick between saying if I thought the murderer was working with an accomplice or if I thought he had multiple personalities. I chose the latter, yet the AI responded about how he didn’t think he was working with others. It’s a weird glitch and I don’t know if it affects the gameplay but it’s going to frustrate me if it matters. Also: to anyone complaining about having to buy with real money- I’m on level 37 and it hasn’t been a problem at all!

    Fun So Far

I’m having a good time so far. The mini game is awesome. It’s a lot easier to do than some of the other mini games I’ve done and it happens to emulate another game that I always have so much fun with. Plus, I think it’s interesting that you have to replay the levels to get stars. I think that’s a cool mechanic. I think the one thing I might have a note about is gender neutral reference to player. I’m not the most super advocate for these sorts of things, but as a female I kinda got pulled out of the story for a second when I referred to as father. I feel like I lost a bit of closeness and urgency in the story because I realized that I wasn’t playing “myself”. I’m not sure if it makes sense, but that’s really my only critique. Aside from that, I’m looking forward to progressing.

    Interesting and Engaging

Super interesting and got me hooked! Loved the game and the twists, although I felt like I always ruined my relationships by choosing what I felt was the best answer. However, the game ended abruptly and rolled credits... now it occasionally pops up a notification showing I got a new message and I can read the new message... so I get excited and open the game and then there is nothing there.. so I am not sure what that is about but it’s really frustrating because I keep thinking they added more to the story line since it did end so abruptly and also mid-mini game.. I still have to collect 1 more star to get to 100% on the final “hacking” challenge. So good game, but don’t get too attached, I finished it in less than 2 weeks while on vacation and now can’t find anything similar that I like as much.

    Attention keeping time waster

I keep having to remind myself that this game isn’t actually using any of my brain power or expertise. Because the thing is, it FEELS like I’m doing something important, even though I’m really just tapping to post prewritten text messages, and occasionally making a choice about what to say. There’s enough different characters and plot bits to keep me interested. My only gripe is the frequent interruptions requiring me to “hack” into some file (ie play a matching game and pass the level) in order to continue the conversation. It was fine early on when passing the levels was easy, but it starts to get hard later, and it’s frustrating that I have to play the game within a game that I’m not interested in over and over and over just to get back to the game I want to play.

    Has potential

I waited a long time to write a review and I usually don’t review games. This game has an amazing concept. Love the story line- I don’t even mind the mini games yet- however they are very hard. I have been stuck on level 23 for a while and still need another star to progress. A few suggestions - have daily deals on coins half off or small packs like unlimited lives for 2 hours plus 50 gold and a few boosts for 5 bucks etc. it would make all the difference. I also obviously haven’t beaten the game yet but i did see from someone else that after you complete this story, there is no more. I am very sad about that. If developers chose to add another story- please restart the levels as they get so hard it would be impossible to continue. I also wouldn’t mind the mini games being a bit more game related. Like maybe connect the colored squares to find clues in a crime scene picture, or just show us a picture and have us solve the crime based off of it etc. I really love the concept of this game but really would like a little more.

    Almost Perfect

As others have mentioned, the mini games are too hard, and in some cases, they appear to be unbeatable because it seems like the game is intentionally not giving you the pieces you need to win the mini games. This is very problematic as the main draw to this game is the story, and you have to complete these games to progress in the story. Furthermore, it’s very frustrating to work extremely hard to pass the mini games all to get maybe 30 seconds worth of progress in the story. The boosters they give you are not very helpful at all. They also force you to watch an ad to get your daily reward. If they would make the mini games easier (or at the very least, definitely beatable) and/or release a strategy guide and/or make better boosters, the game would be perfect. With that being said, this game is far better than story games like Episode or Choices. This is definitely a step in the right direction for this mobile game genre, and I hope to see more improvements in the future.

    Love but could be better

I really like this app a lot and the only reason I’m not giving it 5 stars is because of the whole Coin and Star thing. There’s an option to buy coins which is great but no option to buy stars and you need both to be able to continue playing. To get more stars you have to play this really boring match the colors type of game. I got this app because I love mystery and suspense, if I wanted to play a game I would have done that instead. If there is no option to buy more stars I think instead of playing that game to get more stars we could solve mystery like puzzles for example: finding clues in crime scene photos, going through old newspaper articles for clues, deciphering a piece of evidence like a note etc! I would definitely keep playing if it were something like that instead of matching blocks of the same color, it gets really boring and sometimes frustrating. Besides that I really like this app!

    Worth a try

I enjoyed this game at first. I think the story line is compelling and the characters are enjoyable. However the mini games really don’t tie in at all to the story and begin to get difficult at higher levels. Currently I’m on folder 55 and I’ve made it that far without using any real money to buy coins or anything like that. The problem I have with the game is solving the mini games that I do not find fun at all. It’s like playing candy crush. I get that it’s tied into the difficulty that I’m sure is involved with “hacking” various computer systems but it’s certainly not what I want most of my time on the app to be spent doing. With the increasingly difficult folders at this level it’s just not fun to spend the limited time I play games on my phone playing a color matching game. It’s a bummer because I was looking forward to the conclusion. Tl;dr I enjoyed this game a lot at first but the levels where I’m at now (55) make the mini games too annoying.

    Very little actual story

When quarantine started I began looking for alternatives to pass the time. I’ve always loved true crime & figured that I’d try out a few of these types of games but this one is about 80% mini games and 20% plot. The minigames increase in difficulty the farther along you are (I’m at level 80) to a point that you’re tempted to spend the money for additional moves or more lives, luckily I’m patient enough to wait it out & eventually end up moving on without any purchases. However, I’m now at the point where I’m about to scrap the game. The plot is no longer compelling and it seems like things are added to just to take up space. You also waste time playing these minigames to be rewarded with a 30 second text exchange that’s not relevant. Also to note is that you’re not actually solving anything, your merely tapping a prewritten response (or choosing between 2) & literally just playing minigames while the story unfolds. I’ve tried out a couple other of these types of games throughout the pandemic & this is by far the least enjoyable for me.

I want to love the game

I seriously wanted to love this game, but I just can’t. The story is fun and it seems like it would be great if you could finish it, but it seems improbable without paying for it. The mini-games, which turn out to be the meat of the game, become increasingly difficult and near impossible as you go through the story. You get five lives and you only receive 1 Star for each game. There have been literal days of dying five times and waiting to regenerate health to try again, only to die again all five times. I have been on level 53 for about a week now and unable to beat the level. The game seems to provide all the wrong blocks needed over and over again and I have legitimately lost interest in the game over it. Note to the Devs: I get the idea of increasing difficulty, but the games have to be winnable. If you want to charge for the game, just charge for the game. Don’t make it impossible without micro purchases. It would also be a good idea to provide more stars depending on moves remaining. One per go makes this game take way too long.

Honest Review up to levels 74-79

Ok, so... the game is good. However, you have to understand that not every attempt of the puzzle has a solution. What that means is that you have to bank on the pure luck that the computer will provide you with the right tools to beat a level. In the beginning, it gives you those tools (colored block combinations etc) however, once you get into the 60s and 70s levels.. you will not be given the tools you need. Period. You won’t. I feel sorry for the makers of the game because of how hard they worked on this. I have every star up to level 68? Or 70? So.. trust me, I’m not giving up easily and I am quite good at the puzzles but.. the time that you have to spend waiting for the right combinations of colored blocks is just ridiculous.. its not about skill in the end. Its about luck and when a game is about luck.. well, its basically vegas. I will visit Vegas when I feel like testing my luck. Save yourself your time.. pass on this game.
