Easily the best card game I’ve played

Let me preface this by saying I was a huge fan of hearthstone. And being a fan of 40K I just thought this was going to be a shallow time waster with a 40K skin. Boy was I wrong. This has so much depth and tactical finesse in it, I’m still shocked when I play. And I’ve put HOURS into this game. I’ve never WANTED to play a mobile game, but I WANT to play this game. When I have free time, I WANT to immerse myself in this game. That in itself is worthy of a 5 star review. And you guys don’t make this pay to win either, you’re so generous. Thanks for putting so much love into this. I look forward to spending more of my money on this game. PS: consider adding more Astartes legions? I’d love to see some Ultramarines or other prominent Legions added to the game. Much love guys!

Great card game for 40k fans

I’ve always loved 40k but wanted to see how it would be in the form of a card game and this is pretty great. The events and lodges as well as things you can do daily for cards and money to buy crates and get gems is wide in variety as well as what legion you can play and the sort of play style you can have can fit seeing how many warlords there are. Just a bit of a suggestion though, could you add a 2v2 mode? I know this may be a bit difficult to do but the experience of it would be pretty hectic and fantastic. So, just a suggestion you should implement. Thank you!

    Great game, needs more legions.

The game is well done (especially if you’re an expert old 40k fan like me). Been playing since the release, but the a lack of legions is getting old. Even if you release 1 per month, it would take over a year to get all the legions from the heresy in play. And that doesn’t count extra imperial guard/titans/etc. If you want to keep players interested, please start releasing more legions, not just extra squads and heroes from those you have in play. Btw - I’m willing to buy packs for new legions, but I won’t spend anything on new cards for those you released.

    Yo

I may be biased since I’m a war hammer fan who loves hearthstone and magic but i think this game is great. Only downside as far as I’m concerned is a lack of cards. I think there should be ultramarines and imperial fist, orks, eldar, tyranids, and all other factions but I have a feeling they will be coming if this game makes money. I plan on making some in game purchases when I have extra $. I rarely spend money on mobile games. That’s how good I think this is. Also it’s not pay to win. I have around a 1200 rating, just started 2 days ago and I’m climbing in rank. Devs if you read this more cards more factions!

    Absolutely amazing!

For fans of the Warhammer 40k universe, and especially those who are fond of the Horus Heresy, this game is absolutely perfect! Gameplay is fun, the cards look great, the interface is super intuitive and the support team is really nice and very helpful. There is tons of content, with a wide range of warlords and cards from many Space Marine Legions, both loyalists and traitors, as well as Chaos, Mechanicum, and the Imperial Guard. Events, a rotating shop, daily rewards and goals, and more make it fun to play repetitively as well. There’s almost nothing I can complain about for this game! I definitely recommend it!

    Best game I have

This game is awesome and I’ve had way to much fun on this and I’m waiting on dark angels and blood angels and dorns boys, but some minor things would be nice to add, add more people in lodges and the ability to private message friends or people in your lodge, another thing that would be epic would be a free play mode against bots where you get to pick whatever cards you get or order your cards how you want kinda like a sandbox mode, where if I placed a pyramid of phoetep I can choose what card it spawns just to see what crazy things you can make with it.

Best card game one major suggestion

This card game is amazing completely captures the fast paced brutality of warfare in this universe (major one is Warhammer 40k but this is based in its history around 30-31k). The only major flaw that I find is the inability to play as the faction you want from the get go. Now I understand the first five missions being a tutorial so you use a stock deck, but as soon as the shop opens I would suggest giving the option to buy 1 deck of any of the current factions as many players such as myself are fans of the universe and want to use a certain faction to play. For me it’s the Custodes I’m even ok with the price of $9.99 for the complete decks of factions that you do sell. The problem is you only give the option each day to buy any of 3 random ones which means you could be waiting awhile to get the one you want such as myself now on day 7 of not playing at all other than to check in each day to check the shop while I wait to get the faction I want to play with. Fix this and the game is an easy 5 stars thanks for the great work!!!!!!!!!!

    Balance and constructed issues...

Good game but scaled opponents should and need to be implemented and improved if you want people to pay money for content. Too many games do this and think by painting free to play players into a corner that they’ll all relent and buy cards. Fix the blatant and glaring issues and this game would be and could be worthy of the GW stamp. While the content of the story components is spot on and exhilarating to take part in, it gets tedious when the skill I have in deck building(25 years + tournament Magic the Gathering)means little to nothing against opponents that get cards digitally placed into their hands and answer any strategy I come up with(aggro, control, burn, etc.) is systematically countered by an established opponent who has 3x or more cards than I do, or an ai that just happens to have the answers to said strategies I’ve employed. So fix these problems or else be content with the cult niche you own. Otherwise the story is engaging but would like to see it mean something and go somewhere, as if the choices I make impact my individual game experience. Sic Tur Ad Astra

Great 30k lore and fun game but crashes often :(

This game does a really good job of feeeling true to the WH 30k lore and is much more generous with giving cards and gold than many other card games. There is always an element of pay-to-win in these kinds of games b/c people who drop big money on legendary cards and many card packs are obviously going to advance faster, but this is WAY less of a problem here than in Hearthstone. There is also regular new content to keep the game fresh. However there is a huge problem with this game: it crashes ALOT. I crash pretty much every day, losing my match, and I regularly “win” matches b/c my opponent disconnected. This is frustrating especially in the Events where you play until you lose three times. Games devs, if you read this, please fix the crashes, its way more important to your game then more content. I have yet to spend a dollar b/c I will NOT spend money on a game that crashes every day. Fix the crashing and you will be more successful in earning money from players.

    Meh review

So I just came back to this game after maybe 2 months of being gone the Meta is soooo pointlessly broken. More then half the cards aren’t even close to viable. Inter factions have no builds that can win. 300 plus dollars later and well over 100 hours in the game. I can say it’s not at its best state Balance wise. I have had a lot of fun with this game... in the past would have gave it 5 stars at the time of the alpha legion drop. They apparently did this huge change with a lot of cards rules, think that might be a lot of my gripe. Yet it’s really unsatisfying to play decks that literally just use broken 1/1 spam to turn 5 win with Garo or whatever his name is. 3 expansions later and we still only have one bad bored wipe card that has a chance of only doing 1 damage to everyone... feels like they just sped up the meta cuz people were complaining and now nothing besides face punch 1/1 is any good. There are things I like about the game just at this time I’m annoyed with the direction it’s in.

    This Game Needs Work Done

For starters, it needs a better reward system. Secondly, it need balance checks on some of the cards. For example, “Duke Mortecher” is a 4/7 that can bounce troops to hand. I don’t have a problem with the bounce part, just his stats. It needs to be lowered. Another one that was recent is “Atesh Tarsa”, who if you pay 2 energy, you give all your creatures Survivor 1. To combat this, either make a clause that says those with survivor cannot gain it anymore while on the field, or make GENERIC removal and boardwipes. This is because Atesh can set up a big board, then it is hard to even play anymore. However, the game is fun. At the beginning, it tells you how to play, but it does give a misleading impression that it is one of those campaign games. It is PVP. You get to play as your favorite space marine chapter (whether Imperium or Chaos), along with interesting warlords and lore that expands the Horus Heresy.

    Weak

The idea of this game was great. Application, not good at all. Pick your side? Meh more like pick your cards. The game is sold as a choose your side during the Horus Heresy but it’s actually more based on the cards you get. Sure you can “fight” for the side you choose but with many restrictions or scenarios that don’t make any sense. Not to mention all the in store purchases are overpriced as usual and that’s counting the reward for win to in game money purchase ratio. PvP idea is not bad for a card style turn based game except for the lack variety. Everyone, including bots, has the same Warlord unless you were lucky enough to grind for one or spend money (I wouldn’t ever) to get a new one. As stated in other reviews, certain things need rebalanced but won’t be. Maybe in time the game will be better but as for now, no dice (get it Gamesworkshop? Because your games use dice) Good luck to all those who try it out though. Someday a good Horus Heresy game will come out.

Second use for gems. Massive amounts of gems... no use

I am leaving a one star review due to the fact that there is no reward system for veteran players. Gems are the major reward for getting duplicate cards, in events, and even in chests as “rewards” to the players. These gems have become unusable to veterans that have most these cards and cannot use these “rewards”. Massive amounts of gems have be accrued by these veterans and due to the limited nature of the shop only carrying randomly generated cards (most if not all of which veteran players already have) there is no use for these gems for long time and LOYAL players. There needs to be a second use for these gems, one that veteran players can take advantage of, and one that shows this game actually cares for its most loyal fan base. Until something is done to rectify this issue, I will not change my review. Do the right thing and take care of your vets.

    Meh

Fun at first but it is impossible to make a deck unless you spend a ton of money. Card packs are bought with gold you earn in game but you end up with just a few cards for many different heroes and incomplete decks. You can’t burn useless cards to craft new ones so you just have to spend a ton of money and hope you get lucky or wait until the cards you want are in the shop. You will have fun until you reach terra and run into all the players that were lucky enough to field many overpowered legendary cards. I probably lost 90% of my games to some op yellow card that exists to make you spend money to find it. Or you will just watch another player crush you with a field of stealth units that can use their abilities without losing stealth. I have literally spent an entire match stunned while watching the other player play solitaire.
