The Easy setting is too easy and normal setting is hard! I feel as if Magnus would be ripping his hair out playing this cpu. I’m terrified to go to medium or hard setting because I’m afraid my phone will come to life and kill everyone in my house as we all sleep. The creators are sick-sadistic, torturers who are plotting world domination one check at a time. I highly suggest against getting this game if you are a beginner unless you plan to play chess for a week, then swearing off of it out of fear of getting a stress induced ulcer. This game keeps me up at night, not because I’m playing it, but again because I’m terrified of it. There is absolutely no excuse as to why this computer generated A.I. Is so smart. The creators should repurpose the app to solving world hunger and we’ll all be fed within a week. Do better Eivaa games. No wait, do the exact opposite, do worse. Please, we are all begging you.

I really like this app! There is nothing wrong about it! I love this app! I read the reviews and it says that “I can not move my king” and other related reviews. Really, the game is just stopping you from making a wrong move. The diffuculty levels make sense but easy is very easy. In easy mode, the bot eats anything it can. I use pawns as bait to get me in a better situation. The only thing that is wrong about this game is that I keep on tapping the wrong tile. There is an undo button so that is not really a problem. Some reviews say they can not move my king but that is so you do not make a wrong move. This also goes with other pieces. For example: if your knight is on c2, your king is on d1, and the other person’s bishop is on a4, you can not move your knight or else you lose. I like how you can play with a bot and how you can play with someone next to you! The graphics are very good and the chess board is customizable! I would reccomend it if you want a 2D or 3D offline chess game!

The game is lots of fun, it’s a good chess game and the music is very relaxing as you play. I only have one problem, the easy difficulty is easy a little to easy I my opinion but that’s fine, when you go to normal though it like the game said ha got em and beats the crap out of you. I have t played one hard yet and I don’t really want to. I’ll admit that I am not the greatest chess player, however, I am good enough that I can say that normal the way it is, is ridiculous. Other than that I would highly recommended it and if you are brand new to chess this game would help improve your skill.

The CPU is catered to all skill sets, so you can play as casually or seriously as you’d like. I love that it has a local two-player mode. The background music is serene and soothing. The graphics are beautiful for a mobile game. I love that you can customize the table and game pieces but I wish there were more options and an outside option like you’d see with tables in a park. It’s also incredibly affordable to remove ads. No matter how experienced a chess player you are, this is the game for you.

This is an awesome game with some great graphics! The way you can customize stuff is really cool and making a boring game like Chess into a fun vibrant and 3D game is just genius! This app is for all ages from people who are beginning to learn from people who are good but just want a challenge. Just wanna say this app should get a perfect 5 star review from everyone! Thx

Everything about this game is terrific... except the issue that easy and normal have a huge gap. Easy is as advertised; fun but the computer is easily beaten. Normal, however, is actually difficult. Have done equal/better on medium setting, which should be harder than normal (according to the scroll bar). Normal CPU is playing almost mathematically perfect, which is not “normal” if you are playing average friends where you sin some/ose some. It is good training perhaps, but not being able to go backwards several moves does not allow you to learn about how the computer set you up. The AI is good; it is interesting to watch the CPU player set up moves and traps. Every time I think the computer made a mistake in normal mode... I find out very quickly it did not and I did! Please make normal a little more even and make medium the current normal. Everything else about this game (look, feel, controls) is super.

I have tried many chess apps and this one by far is the best. I love the graphics, animation and easy movement of the board so you can view all your pieces. I love that the Hard level is difficult yet still beatable even if you don't use the undo button. My only complaints are I would love to be able to review my game after it is over or even save some games for later review also be able to utilize the game clock. That is the only reason I didn't give this app a 5.

Best chess app I’ve used - I love the 3-D visuals, being able to customize the board and pieces as well as being able to pinch the screen and change the view and angle of the board. I turn off music when I play app games, but this one is soothing if you put it on low. I just wish one of the playing options would allow you to invite your friends to play with you. I would have then given it 5 stars.

I haven’t been able to find an option to play Black. Please advise how to do this. If the app is unable to allow choice of side to play, then this is a SERIOUS design flaw, and please correct it. I would give 1 star rating if this is true, but since idk for a fact that it is (for now), I’ll give it 3 stars just based on the outstanding graphics. I’m playing against the CPU exclusively just for practice games, and would give it 4 or 5 stars otherwise. Being able to play the Black side against the CPU is ESSENTIAL for balanced development. If not corrected in a reasonable time I will ditch this app forever. Really a shame, because I actually enjoy this app very much, but some things are a deal breaker.

I have had this app for awhile now and have noticed that the game will not allow you to make legal moves such as En Passant, or allowing a King that is not in threat of being in check to capture lesser pieces such as Pawns,Knights,etc. that would allow you to advance to win when playing at levels above “easy” mode. The graphics are very good I do enjoy the boards zoom feature a rotational viewing angles. But the developers really need to fix the issues stated above when playing in the User vs CPU mode. It is very frustrating to know you have beaten the CPU but have it taken away to give the CPU an easy victory.

The game is a good chess game for someone good at chess. Me being absolutely awful at chess, the game is way too unbalanced. Easy difficulty is too easy. Normal is too difficult. I’ve seen a lot of people with this same problem. I’ve been playing for a while and I seem to not be improving at all. It might just be me, but I’d find something else. There also is a “multiplayer”. This is just a mode where you pass the phone to your friend after you make a move. It stinks. Please enhance the multiplayer and add more customizations. Those are pretty enjoyable. Oh yeah, please make another difficulty in between Easy and Normal.

I went in thinking “I’m pretty good at chess I’ll play on the normal setting...” I have got killed the last 3 games I have played... it’s like the AI is playing a perfect game everytime and is 5 moves ahead of me its definitely not what “normal” should be. So I was like, “well I must be worse then I thought or maybe I am rusty let me try easy...” It was like the AI was purposely trying to lose... lol I don’t even want to think about medium or hard if normal is this hard and easy is this easy... I already want to pull my hair out so please fix the difficulty settings..

Not sure what im missing but can’t find a setting to stop computer from helping in the 2 player setting. It always tells your opponent when you are about to capture their king and it won’t even let the opponent make the mistake of not moving king out of the way. It only allows opponent to move into a safe spot away from being captured so no one ever wins. It ends up going in circles until the game finally ends in a draw. We just want to play a normal game of chess with no help and if some one makes a mistake the other person can actually win.

I enjoy this game, but there are two frustrating characteristics: first, there needs to be another level between easy and normal. I win nearly every game on the easy level but can’t win at all on normal. Second, the game comes without screen rotation, and it’s default position is not what I prefer. It forces me to have the home button (iPad) on my right, and I prefer it on my left but cannot change it. All else is good. Edit: I lowered my rating to 1 star because of the difference of skill level between easy and normal. As a novice I can beat the computer every time on easy and never on normal. Too exasperating to enjoy AT ALL! And then there is the lack of screen rotation. Argh! Second Edit: multiple or infinite undo would make it better for learning.
