Easy to pour hrs into this game and still want more

First off this game does not make you feel bad for not spending money on it (huge plus). Great gatcha collector where even low lvl characters can be useful in some endgame content due to their unique skills. Great graphics and music. Beat the game before I wanted to spend money on it as I was still playing heavily. 2 things I wish was different tho. Endgame money requirements need to be heavily reduced. I’ve beaten some of the endgame content and I still need to put a heavy focus on gold farming just to do little things to attempt to get better at this game. Spending multiple days just to get a few attempts at better gear or seeing if it maxes into amazing gear really is a bummer because the answer is usually no. Not to mention promoting characters (you do that a lot!) removing or changing gear, efficient summoning (tavern is the best), and like 3 other things. Raid should change elements once a week or something. Having a majority of a raid being fire even if the bosses are not all fire means the requirements to start raiding are usually limited to newer players. I’m more than qualified for raid but some of my strongest players are green and they get destroyed while blue is my weakest and they’re what I need. I’m forced to use weaker guys and it’s taken awhile for me to clear much because of that fact.

    Painful

The game gets pretty annoying pretty quickly when it comes to the more challenging content like arena/abyss because of the painfully long hours you must sink into the game just to improve a single character. Equipment is weird. I never understood why I must spend to remove gear(50,000 at most) and why it usually takes dozens of hours to get a single piece of usable equipment. Rates are very low on character banners which discouraged from spending and I'm not sure if that’s a good or bad thing. moonlight hero rates appear to be almost impossible to get unless you’re REALLY lucky which in my year of consistent play, I have only encountered 2, Dark Corvus and Maid Chloe. Gold is really hard to maintain because of how expensive it can be to upgrade gear and remove them. Skystone is this game’s premium currency, and it’s pretty generous, showering you with it in the main story. But after the main story, your main income of Skystone will be from weekly arena rewards which is nice. The game is pretty cool and good. Until you reach the post-game. It’s all downhill from there. It’s a great game if you have a lot of free time, however it may not be for you if you don’t spend 99.9% of your day gaming on your phone.

    Just... wow

I’ve been looking for a good Gatcha game for a while now. I originally liked Langrisser but epic 7 just does everything better. Graphics and animations are beautiful, combat feels much more dynamic than Rock Paper Scissors, progression feels much more fluid, etc. I could go on and on. You don’t need a whole lot of time investment either, as you can level up while offline after progressing enough through the story, which is fantastic by the way, especially for a f2p. I’ve read a few reviews about horrible drop rates but I’m not sure if I’ve had good luck or if they’re just flat out wrong. I’ve gotten 3 five star heroes and 2 four star heroes since I started 2 weeks ago, along with 2 five star artifacts and a handful of four stars. I haven’t even finished the main story yet. I think if you aren’t looking for anything specific in particular you always have a chance of getting something good. Of course you need to get dupes if rare character drops to min max your team but it’s far from necessary unless you invest heavily into the pvp in this game, which I haven’t yet. I think this game has just continued to surprise me and I can’t wait to see where the devs take this game.

    Love it!

One of the best rpg games i have ever played, with it having a great amount of heroes to collect and enemies to fight. The story is extremely interesting and the bosses very difficult. Pvp is also a challenge and quite fun with all the rewards you can earn besides when it comes world arena- only if you have the best of the best max gear and everything with a functional team you can win… or just might as well have the enemy take a turn with all their heroes 5 times in a row before you can start. Anyways Theres a lot to do but sometimes … there isnt. You can have a moment where you feel stuck in the game. cant get past a mission or story mode, nor even spend gold or have enough diamonds or summons and honestly its hard to get yourself back up to it at times. Doesn’t help that summons are actually a scam in a way because you can go for months summoning more then a hundred times and get either nothing or the same hero you already had. I even once summoned a hero, earned a 5 star book that taken forever and summoned the same hero in one day and even summoned that same hero once again the next day. Happened 3 times with other heroes getting dupes from long waited summons and at some point it just makes me not want to play if its going to pull that. Theres so many heroes yet the system chooses to give me something i already have. Other then that the game is perfect.

    40 hours later...

I love almost everything about this game. The animation is amazing, there’s mostly good balance, and the story is pretty interesting! I’ve invested about 40 hours into the game without paying, and it’s been a wonderful experience...mostly. I have a few complaints. 1. The time investment needed to succeed is massive. I highly recommend this game, but only if you can put a lot of time into it. There was a point where I could only play for like 5 hours for 2 weeks and catching up after that was difficult, though doable. 2. The drop rates for good heroes are low when compared to the difficulty in acquiring enough summoning bookmarks. Sky stones and bookmarks are hard to come by, and the system is almost entirely luck based unless you’re willing to spend a LOT of money. I typically have good luck when it comes to this, but I know many people who didn’t. 3. Dizzy. Everything about her is OP, but a new player can’t access her since she was a limited hero. All of her attacks are AOE, she has the 3 most painful debuffs in the entire game, and the only real counters to her are heroes that can clear debuffs. The PVP system as a whole is pretty good, so when Dizzy pops up it really grinds my gears. Overall: I love this game. I love its characters, story, UI, PVP and PVE systems, community, and animation style. I recommend it for everyone, but those 3 problems hold it back from being a 5-Star game.

Great game, two major needs for improvement.

I enjoy epic seven and it is a really great game overall. But I do share concerns as the “most helpful” reviews: drop rates are a bit unfair with the amount of skystones you are able to acquire daily. I can really grind for skystones (scarce when you finish world difficulty as well) and still not receive any decent units to further my progress in the game. Sometimes I wouldnt have any other choice and would have to purchase packs, I’m sure that’s the gimmick. If given another easier way to acquire skystones or increase drop rates, it could help alleviate some of the difficulties of this issue. I’d also like do address how incredibly irksome it is to put together gear for your unit when you can not view all armor, including the ones that are already equipped. There could be an equipment manager where we can piece sets together to see the before and after stats of your unit. And then total up the amount of gold based on what piece of armor moves from one place to another. You waste so much gold trying to move your gear around and gold isn’t easy to farm when you use it for many other things as well. I can go from a few million gold to ten thousand really quickly. In order to reattain that amount, it would take so much time and use of energy which could be utilized somewhere else. It’s a big waste and this could be improved.

    PVP is flawed, P2W dominated

A good majority of the game is great, but the pvp is absolute garbage. If you’re F2P or just unlucky, don’t bother doing anything pvp related, because you will get DOGGED. It’s filled with metas fueled by P2W and broken units. The top players have the most annoying and powercreeping units, making it objectively impossible to get high in rank for PVP. I can’t even do live pvp anymore. It’s simply the fact that P2W players are dominating all aspects of pvp, and PvP allows for better rewards and such. Other than that, the game is kind of F2P, with the hunts and grind being not so bad, but just know that your performance in the game is up solely to RNG. I’ve been a long time player of Epic Seven, reached rank 62, have a ton of regular 6 star units, but I’m quitting due to the PvP aspects. The meta is changing with more broken units out and F2P players such as myself can’t catch up. Guild wars are also insanely hard, since everyone seems to have broken 5 star moonlights. If you’re starting the game out, you’ll LOVE IT, but when you get to a higher rank, you’ll learn to hate some parts of the game. Overall, 4 stars for being friendly to F2P, one star lost because it’s objectively P2W and some parts of the game are dominated solely by P2W. It’s just not fun anymore, and I get that this game is free so I shouldn’t be complaining, but I’m just saying my opinion on it. I should have quit long ago.

    Beautiful grind

While the game is phenomenal in a lot of areas from the visuals, the sheer quality behind the game and a vast roster it takes too many grind mechanics from various other games. Nothing is simple in this game, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing, except that in this case the content appears to primarily be there to add to the grind rather than entertainment purposes. Don’t get me wrong, the game is enjoyable but I catch myself only playing 30mins a day because the game simply asks too much if you want to play it seriously. One thing I would like to point out is the reward system, the game gives you a lot and then some which is great, it helps lessen the grind blow initially and the 30xsummon is a brilliant addition. If I were to change one thing it would simply be to push back some of the grind content further to late game, if there is more late game then I’m honestly worried seeing as how much grind there is already early on. This coming from a hardcore SWGOH player.... simplify early game, add some mid and then the more complicated stuff add in close to late game. I’ll most likely continue playing this for 30mins daily until another game catches my eye. Unfortunate because the quality behind this game is visible to any, it just stretches the grind into too many different directions.

    Good

Very good game. Fantastic art works, lots of contents, new events almost every 1-2 weeks. Endless playtime, addictive gameplay. The things that I have a problem with are how expensive the packs are and the summon chances. For the high prices, more contents should be added to the packs to make it worth the purchase. Or lower the prices. Looking at how expensive the packs are doesn’t make me want to purchase it at all. Lower prices however, i can purchase multiple without having to bite my nails or having a guilty feeling by purchasing it. Don’t be greedy with the high prices. More games are coming out that are making you purchasing packs at a really expensive amount to advance; I really enjoy the game and hope it won’t turn into another one of those and making me quit playing it. I would love to purchase the packs to support the game, but you have to work with the customers and lower it down. Summoning system could be improve. More hero summons rather than artifacts. I’ve buy packs AND used the summon tickets provided in the game multiple times and still couldn’t get many heroes. Only repetitive artifacts that are worthless to me. It gets frustrating and makes me want to quit playing. Not worth spending if all i’m getting are crappy by chance heroes and the same artifacts.

Is it possible to get penguins back (Confessions of a Hoarder)

First off I love this game and I think it’s systems all-and-all work well. Even with this I wanted to mention something that personality saddened me. I was surprised to find my penguins missing, and then learn they had been turned into items. I understand this is not your problem but I was sad to have my penguins removed from my heroes. Now I am a bit of a collector when it comes to monsters/heroes in games like this. I keep one of everything, so I always have storage issues. Even with that I have kept the first copy of every Monster/hero I have gotten in any game like this. If I have the best character in the game I don’t want or need another one. This makes a one star I don’t have leagues more valuable to me. In every game I keep all material and “fodder” characters. Even if I get a 5 star but don’t have room the monsters/heroes I do have (including one stars and material monsters) come first .I would rather have my one star materials and let the 5 star despawn. This is why I didn’t like it when you took my penguins. To me they are worth more that any top tier character. Now I get that you will almost definitely never read this and their is probably nothing you can do, but if there was a way to get my penguins back it would be absolutely amazing! Even if you can’t get more (as monsters) after that, is it possible to be able to have the ones we already had back. Sorry for wasting your time.

    It’s not casual friendly

I’ll be honest with myself and others. This game has just about the most beautiful graphics and anime like cutscenes of any game out there. The gacha part of the game isn’t terrible honestly. I’ve spend a good chunk of money and gotten a great amount of heroes out of it. Having said that I’m not an intense player. I don’t do arena unless I have to... and what kills me is that I wish I could play this game and continue to invest in the beauty of the chars and plots. The truth is you can’t do any of that without overcoming the true obstacle. The complex armor system... look I’d be happy with just an auto equip that does some basic set ups. But to progress through the harder levels you need to be extremely intricate with what you equip to your heroes to survive a run. Armor is serious here and I can’t play that way casually. Now auto equip and maybe invest in upgrades? Totally. But with so many stats, colors, versions, even armor set combos and more than hundred of chars I just can’t be into it anymore. Especially since you have to pay just to take the armor off. So for those of you wanting to collect chars and just breeze on through nope and nope. There’s not even an auto run system that works for free. This is just not that kind of game. Having said that if you’re not casual like me this game has no faults otherwise! I’ll miss the great scenery though.

    Agree

I agree with the posted review by Bulldog2284 and Ffrk yoyo. Epic Seven is a fun RPG with quite a bit of character content and team building options. Downsides include: 1 - extremely low drop rates for great, potential “end-game content” characters compared to the high drop rates of crappy multiple summoned characters, especially frustrating after hours of invested time on the game, rather than spending lots of real-world money for the chance gamble/summon 2 - why does it cost gold currency in the game to switch around and try out different gear options on characters I had had to slave away at grinding for in the first place, with crap gear that I already own after spending time grinding away at getting??? GET RID OF THE COST OF CHANGING AROUND EQUIPMENT I OWN!!! 3 - the game producers are definitely NOT generous. I have played better RPGs with much greater detail, content, graphics, and effort put forth by the producers in efforts to : HAVE A HAPPY CUSTOMER / CLIENT. Part of keeping your customers is keeping them happy, help them out, throw them a bone once in a while. Maybe give out a 6 star upgrade “package” to your faithful players instead of trying to squeeze every penny out of people for a fraction of a percentage chance at getting a decent character. Maybe you should have the (also extremely low drop rate) required catalysts for hero upgrades as a daily login give-away too.

    Developers don’t even play.

This is an all too classic case of a great game run into the ground by prioritizing profits over everything else. They modeled the entire game after Summoner’s War, but the few times they deviate from that is to make something worse. It’s all grind, 6 levels of RNG for rewards. Beautiful game, engaging storylines, and then... nothing. In the last year it’s been a slow decline that has accelerated in the past 3 months to a full-on free fall. The past 3 months have been straight re-runs of old events and heroes, which is nice for new players, but then they do crappy cash grabs like rerunning limited artifacts that have no pity summon system (or even a guarantee of the 5 star artifact being the 5 star artifact you get), along with the returning limited hero. Just to make sure everyone has to pull on a banner they’ve already got the hero from that they’re rerunning. Arena is a grind, progress is slow, gold is used for nearly every aspect of the game, and what new content they have added just uses more gold that we’re already starved for, for more layers and layers of RNG. Even what they themselves call a side entertainment project of pets they made an RNG filled nightmare. You have to run 3-4 of the hardest grinding content to afford one pet, who will most likely have a crappy D level of a skill you can’t pick, and it will take 8 pets to use as fodder to max one pet, then try to fuse another pet with that one (which can fail).... just no.

    A beautiful disaster

First I’ll start off with the good parts. The game’s character designs are great and free currency for summoning is fairly generous given and then things start to go downhill. I’ve been playing for about half a year and my experience a first was really good at first but there were many things that left me scratching my head thinking “why in the world would you do that”. The first of this is the layers of RNG in literally almost every everything in the game. Yes it’s a gatcha game but the RNG in this game borders on the absurd. I feel the biggest offender of this is making equipment. You grind materials, fork over the gold and from then on you have virtually no control on how the equipment turns out. Apart for selecting the part like a helm EVERYTHING after is random. In the most recent update a so called “solution” was added and it is the most convoluted thing I ever seen implemented in a game ever. So much so that it borders on insulting to the players. Every new system is added to the game takes the game backwards and the only solution they give is free items which don’t solve the core issues at all. Another issue is how intensive using gold is in the game despite there no being very few energy/time efficient way to farming gold. Every costs gold, even unequiping gear cost cost. The game has this bold plan 10 year plan but at this pace I doubt it’ll last that long.
