This game is truly the BEST fighting game on mobile

I was very surprised of how well made and great this game is. The controls are simple but yet effective. The gameplay is good for beginners but you will need practice to be good. (Personally love that game design). The design of the graphically is AMAZING to say the least. It’s runs very smoothly (around 60-80 FPS witch is unheard of in mobile) the graphics and game art style is AMAZING. The character roster is really really great with characters for every different play style. And I love how that added a competitive mode with all of the characters unlocked and all moves unlocked. But Man I wish mobile would let us the skin of the character you own in competitive, like it would still be competitive but it would let me use my other big band costumes but only the skin not the stats, like an ult in smash bros or other fighting games or like in 2nd encore we’re they let you use a skin, and I want it because I want to show people cool looking characters and stuff but I don’t like playing free for all because not only people with characters that have the power level advantage would win 90% of the time, but the good thing is you can show off the cool characters. So if the game devs are reading this please add a feature we’re we can use the character costumes in competitive. This game is really really worth a download and playing and I’m only asking for one thing and that is to let us use our character costumes in competitive.

    I am BLOWN away!

This game is absolutely great in every way possible. If you know you can handle it. It’s not for everyone. You need good hand eye coordination, and just being mature enough as you will enjoy the game even more. Getting premium credit is not difficult once you master how the system works a and how to properly use a good number of the 12 different fighters. I currently use Peacock, Squigly, Ms. Fortune and Beowulf really well now. Just playing a good amount that you get comfortable using combos and adapting makes it even more enjoyable. It will get slow after day not gonna lie but once I persevered and continued to keep players by I was rewarded with having lots of fun and getting excited to start getting silver tier and hopefully soon enough a gold tier. If you get stuck, you must remember as I don’t see too much help online, Don’t sell anything (yet) Upgrade Bronze even if you know there are silver and gold characters. (They are still good to have) Take risks that fit how well you play. I also love the comments some of these characters make after winning a match. I’m still laughing after the fact. Getting fully immersed in the story will be amazing for you. There are so many good things to say that you should just stop reading and play already. Thanks for this awesome btw, developers. Music is great, graphics is 200% on point, no glitching EVER and I’m happy to be playing! 🤩🤯🤗🤟🏻👏🏻👌🏻

This game is legit as good as some pc games

I downloaded this game a couple weeks ago and i’ve been grinding a lot, almost every day, and I can’t seem to get enough of the game. I haven’t spent a cent but I can still get as far as everyone else by just playing. this game is hilarious, from intro/outro lines, but it even has JOJO REFERENCES. I could leave the review here from that last point alone but I have more praise for this game. I love the gameplay mechanics, they’re easy to learn and when you can eventually hit like 30 hit combos you feel untouchable. Another good aspect of this game are the constant updates and daily/weekly challenges. they keep the game interesting without necessarily getting repetitive. I’ve never gotten bored playing because as soon as i’m getting tired of fighting AI in story mode and prize fights, I can challenge myself on versus where you can win with numerous strategies and there are infinite possibilities of good teams to destroy people with. this game runs incredibly smooth, and i’m playing on a 4 year old iphone 8 with pretty much no storage left, but this game is the smoothest game i’ve ever played on IOS. hard to believe this is a phone game. basically this game is god tier. admins if there’s one thing i’d like to see different is that i’m coming to the end of story mode even tho i’m lvl 48, and the story is mad interesting too, so i’d love to see continuation if that’s possible.

    Good Golly

Dear everyone, THIS GAME IS GREAT! This game has that sweet style of music that really strikes a cord with jazz fans, and the characters are pretty fabulous. (Hehe, just play. You’ll see what I mean.) Each character has a unique play style, though I have found a universal combo for most of the characters. [Start Strategy Zone] I love the unique abilities of each character, like Peacock’s Under-Uppercut (That’s what I think it should be named anyways, lol.), or Parasoul’s Tear Mines, they all have a unique ability that helps build on their combo. For example, if you use Peacock, swipe down twice, then swipe up if the opponent isn’t blocking, tap twice, then uppercut or use a Blockbuster, and their HP should vanish. As for Parasoul, since she has Tear Mines instead, use her charge attack to detonate against enemies. Tear Mines are more of an experience to achieve kind of thing, but once you get it down, melting opponents is easy. Whenever you aren’t fighting, block and wait until they’ve used up a combo or you can dash in. [End Strategy Zone] By the way, I have extremely potent RNG strength and can get Golds out of the singular Premiums, so don’t be like me. Save up, and get the 10. To the devs, I LOVE YOUR GAME! This is one of the more unique games I’ve found since... This is one of the first unique games I will ever find. I love this game like I love my teddy bear collection!

Updated this review changed from 4 to 5 star

The game play look great and the story and the way they set it up, only issue I’m having is understanding how it works and how to put the characters in play, I bought a few items and have no ideal how to implement them I’ve tried going to help menus and even tech support but it sends me to another site I have to login and I don’t like how it uses your email as your name, i don’t really want company name on a game wish you could change that in settings , I looked in setting how to and couldn’t find anything, looks great and I’m an avid gamer I just wish the interface was more user friendly. Updated review: so after playing more and just going with what I did know so far, i eventually started to understand the set up better and maybe that’s part of Learning the game mechanics I didn’t think about that I just assumed I’d get how works right off the start but that could also be my impatience at work! Changed my 4 star to a 5 star, this is first time I ever wanted to update a review, my main reason for doing so is that fact the developer actually takes the time to read reviews and will direct you where to get help if needed. Thanks for your time I’d try the game out and keep playing for awhile even if you don’t get it at first, you will!

Great! But I have some ideas

This game is amazing fighting game for mobile, with great controls, interesting and fun to play characters, and way more content than other games, even on console. However, there is something I would prefer to be in the game. I think it would be cool if there was a traditional fighting game mode, where you can choose any character you want and all special moves can be equipped. This traditional mode can mainly be either a random battle against a cpu, or a fight against every character. I am aware that the limitations of the touch screen can cause having all the specials to be too hard to control, but there are alternatives. There can be a button that can be clicked on to use special moves. The button can be tapped for a neutral attack, swiped left for something, right for something, down for something, or it can be held for something. Moves that can be held include moves like big band’s counter. Blockbuster attacks should be chosen however, and once it’s filled up, you can just click the neutral special to activate it, similar to final smashes in smashbros. I would love to see this control scheme in this game, but I could be over imagining. This is just personal ideas that I think would be good. Either way, this game is really good.

    Pleasantly surprised

This game was better than what I thought it be. Some games in the App Store would require you to make in-app purchases in order for you to make continual progress. However, this game (once you reach I think level 3) allows you to improve your avatars through other parts of the game beyond story mode. The music is definitely nostalgic, in a good way. I have grown to love the characters, and as you make your characters stronger and skilled you start to see things you NEVER expected them to do. Also, the one-liners are memorable for me now. The character design is great, the settings are great. They also give you prizes everyday for coming, and relics. However, sometimes they can send the same things over-and-over again; and while you might need most of it, some of it you might not. Which still isn’t a problem, because you can actually sell the moves you don’t want, and power up your favorite characters with other characters you don’t want. A win-win situation. There’s very interesting backstories, and your given advice on how to compete in the games too. Overall great experience for someone who didn’t pay a dime, highly recommend. (P.S my favorite character is Peacock)

    Just play the game already

Skullgirls is a great, 2d fighting game with unique characters and an interesting, multi ending story (depending on each character). Though the story isn’t fully in the mobile version yet, it’s still amazing and completely worth it. Since each character plays differently, you definitely start favoritising some over others. Personally I love using Parasoul, one of my friends prefers Peacock, another is a big Double fan. The stamina function makes sure that even if you do choose a favorite, your other fighters get balanced out and you get practice with all your characters. Since refighting battles gives less experience than the first win, daily events help train lower leveled fighters that need experience. Some battles contain randomized fighters which keeps things from being too repetitive and stagnant. My main issue would just be that sometimes the game crashes on me, though it’s not too bothersome. My data was wiped during the big server crash, but all the relics and such ended up making up for it heavily. In fact I’m further ahead now than I think I would have been if it didn’t happen. The company clearly cares about its players and I hope things continue to be great.

    Addicting and Fun! A+++

I played the old LINE version of Skullgirls, and loved the game to death even then. After anxiously awaiting the release of this new version, I have not been even slightly disappointed. The artwork is still beautiful, the characters still animated and fun, the controls still tight and responsive, and the game still amazingly fun and addicting. The fighting is deeply satisfying, and each character has a varied style that lets you find certain characters that work better for the individual. Plus they’ve added a bunch of cool little tweaks to the game, such as the original Japanese voices for the characters, and damage text for damage over time effects in game. In addition, while it does have in-app purchases, this is another one of those games where it’s not P2W. I haven’t paid for anything and the game is still addicting and fun to play, and I never feel like my experience has been ruined in any way. A big shout out to the developers for making such an awesome app, and for making the transition to the new app easy and painless. You created an awesome game with an awesome following and you guys don’t get enough credit for it. Can’t wait until Ms. Fortune comes out! Stay awesome!

    Aesthetic Masterpiece on Mobile

This app’s the Diddy, oh yes! Mortal Kombat style gore to get your heart rate jacked up! Yes! ...and so many friggin themes to each character, It’s like you never bored with their style! There’s enough freebies to keep you locked on, creators know what they’re doing for sure! They give a lot, but this game takes forever to level, its cool though because you never feel weak. I messed up at first and sold my “blockbuster” on a fighter, reached out to support - they backed me up and ACTUALLY TOOK MY RECOMMENDATIONS SERIOUS! Shout out to the support team for being the most DOWN TO EARTH individuals I’ve ever worked with. They were talking about a long list of updates they had planned. Definitely an experience I didn’t expect to see, but then again, this wasn’t a game I expected to play. My feedback was to add a way to know which moves were new, and explained that: “it’s like you get a new move and it’s lost at sea” and they spit balled ideas about maybe adding a number icon indicating that the move is new. Anyways, lots of stuff to explore, lots of incentives to keep getting better and unlocking new divisions that test your characters skills and combos. Good luck out there!!!!

    99% amazing

Skullgirls Mobile is probably the best mobile game I’ve ever played. No cap. I love how fluid the animations are and how the controls are very responsive and easy to remember. Combos are flashy and look super dope when pulled off. (Big Band goes hard on combos. Trust me.) The soundtrack has got some real bangers and the stages all look really good. My only problem with it is that you can’t buy individual characters in the shop for canopy coins. I always wanted a Heavy Metal Big Band, Class Cutter Filia, Stand Out Eliza, Star-Spangled Cerebella, or Blue Bomber Robo-Fortune for the fun references. Unfortunately, there’s no way I can buy these individually in the store. I just have to try my luck with loot boxes. Injustice: Gods Among Us did this with the starting roster of characters and it made the early game super easy to make a team with characters you want, and not random Parasouls that I get every time I open a premier relic. Other than that, I have no issues, so if you would personally cater to my request and not pay attention to more vague and important issues facing your game I would be just delighted. Thanks a million and keep up the great work. Also put Mario in the game. That would be cool.

    Showtime!

This is a game worth downloading. Try it for at least fifteen minutes, and you’ll be hooked. Take me, for example—I only came because of the character Painwheel, and I got utterly invested in the entire Skullgirls story, along with all its quirky, lovable characters, including Filia, Peacock, Beowulf, and even the more hate-able characters like Valentine, Eliza, and Double. It honestly feels like BlazBlue: Revolution Reburning mixed with Marvel: Contest of Champions. It has a number of the same systems as Marvel, but with the fully fleshed-out battle system of BlazBlue. In fact, it improves on both. While microtransactions are present, they’re not at all necessary to get the most out of the game like in BlazBlue—in fact, you’ll almost never even feel the need for them, as the resources they provide are surprisingly plentiful during normal gameplay, and you can get a lot of bang for your buck (so to speak). Also, unlike in Marvel, getting the characters you want at the tiers you want them isn’t as agonizing as it might appear. It just takes patience and tenacity. Overall, this is an amazing game. Come for the character you like, stay for the rest. Ladies and gentlemen...Showtime!

    OUTSTANDING GAME but...

I’ve had this game for around a week now and let me just say. I. AM. IN. LOVE. The animation is fluid, the music is outstanding, the controls are unique and well thought out, the voice acting is phenomenal and suits the characters well and the characters are beautifully unique along with some very cool and interesting concepts. You can see in the ways they fight their personalities really shine through. I don’t think I’ve seen a single bug in this game however I have a few concerns. The leveling up process takes AGES to the point where I (and probably other players) sometimes struggle to want to continue the grinding just so they can continue in the story stages because of the low levels of the characters. It also makes it disappointing once you get a new fighter because all you can think about is how long it’s going to take to level them up. Sure you can sacrifice one of the fighters you don’t use but sometimes that does more harm than good when you are reminded you need that specific fighter or decided you wanted them in the end. However this grinding process does not keep me from playing this game because it is SO ADDICTING! I just hope in the future there is more methods other than grinding tediously/sacrificing fighters to level up your characters.

    Let me play.

Probably top three fighting games on the App Store right now the only problem is when I got this game a couple days ago I literally just could not play it because of all the stuff that would pop up explaining literally every part of the game I get it it’s a tutorial but relax dude it took probably half an hour or more to just get to playing the actual game. I got through all that bull played a little bit of the actual game and decided that was enough since I’ve been on it so long. So I pick up the game today two days later and I started it up and legit three or four things pop up telling me I need to do an energy Boot Camp or upgrade this person or maybe spend a little bit of your Real money on this game. I get it but relax if I needed to do the energy Boot Camp then I would. If I wanted to upgrade my character then I would. If I wanted to spend my real hard earned money then I would. I understand how to do all that because I had to do the 30 minute tutorial so when I start the game please just let me play it dude without trying to get me to do all this other stuff. Again it’s a good game but it seems too pushy. And I can’t stress enough how annoying that to tutorial was just teach me how to fight explain how you want me to spend my money and tell me how to upgrade that’s it it could legit be less than 10 minutes.
