Nothing like classic C&C, but that’s a good thing here.

They’ve done a great job converting C&C into a fast paced mobile game. There is no base building, just combat, as you and your opponent fight for control of 2 or 3 launch pads. A meter fills up when one player has the majority of launch pads, and when it’s full a missile launches on his opponent’s base. 2 missiles wins the game. Games take 2 to 5 minutes on average, which is perfect for gaming on the go. There does seem to be an issue where players who advance too quickly will suddenly find themselves consistently outmatched by about 2 unit levels. This is prettymuch like a brick wall that stops a player from getting any further up the ladder, for a while. I have 2 accounts. On my main account I advanced very slowly and have spent about $65 in micro transactions, and I get fair battles, but on my 2nd account I went on a 42 game win streak, then 35, then 51, and I’ve spent nothing, and now every match I get is a challenge battle, and that’s no exaggeration (the past 50 consecutive battles have been challenge battles). It’s pretty discouraging because I had set out to prove that free players had an equal chance in this arena, but it seem that may only be true up to a point.

    FIX YOUR BALANCE!!!

I’m so sick of trying to have a casual game only to be curb stomped by some one who has level 9 EVERY THING! It is NOT unusual to get pitted against a guy who is level 39 wail you are level 12. But the funny part is, it’s not that unfare “at first” cause you at least feel like you tried your best, and hey some times you might actually get the rocket to hit his base, even win some times. HOWEVER!!! I have fought these stupid “Challenge battles” in sets of TEN! I want to fight some one my level!!! I say it feels fare but some times you are facing units that can literally run over and kill anything that isn’t on the same level! No seriously! It’s an anti everything tank that counteracts air and ground my shooting it, and runs over infinintry! And me, a level 13, had to fight this ****! Fix your game balance!!! But is the game good? Yes it’s actually really good. There is only one game load but you have real time 2min battles where you can actually command your troops and units. Some units do better against others so it’s a game of rock paper sissies. So it forces you to have a healthy spread of diverse units that you can swap in and out and see what strategy works for you.

An enjoyable walk down memory lane

I had my reservations when I saw the promotion for the game because I grew up with C&C. It was the first PC game I played as a kid and I’ve played all the games up to Tiberium Wars 4. The game is a little less involved than the PC version (obviously because it is on mobile), but that doesn’t take away from the addictive game play. Matches are short and fairly balanced. There is a level of strategy involved (the most expensive units are not always the best to field). Leveling up units is straight forward and it doesn’t make you feel like EA is out for a money grab pay-to-win “strategy” game like so many so-called “strategy” game apps. If I were to give it a critique, it would be the build times. Every unit across your build list loads at one time so you can field a soldier in the same time it takes to build a Wolverine mech. It would be nice to see some of the PC build times included where barracks build unit faster and cheaper but are weaker to the more expensive longer build time units. All-in-all, it does make me want to bust out some of the older PC games and give them another spin.

Not like Red Alert 2 or Generals

I can see myself getting bored play this game. Same thing over and over again. I was hoping for a game similar to Red Alert 2 or Generals. It is an ok game. It does takes strategy to win battles so it is close. I really would love to see the return of the Red Alert 2. That game I wouldn’t mind spending money on. Give us something that has a storyline and missions to complete. ok after playing the game for several months now i am not getting tired of the action at all. this is the most fun i have had on my ipad or iphone. i can’t get enough of this game. sure you can spend money and i have. But you don’t have too. It’s just a lot slower to level up but the fun is still there. i have been beat by low level players that had some serious game strategy. you learn a little more from every loss. i have seen people with lev 3-8 stuff in Master 1. so the whole pay to play stuff gets blown out of the water. You can climb up the ladder if you have game. End of story.

Thoroughly Good game, but pay to win.

This game is great, with lots of units, strategies and characters (and C&C lore too) and presents a definite drive to grind. But it thrives on pay to play, I can not help but think that my opponent who has massively higher level units has paid to be able to win when I have not spent a dollar. Pay for play takes you out of the game, wrecks the immersion and the thrill of the battle, as how well you do in the outside world comes into the game (paycheck size or willingness of parents, yes the younger people as well are in this). You play a game to escape the outside world, not see it come to wreck in just another way. I recognize that it is how the company makes its money but perhaps it could make its money off of cosmetics. This could include unit skins, map skins, possibly an in-game map maker feature as dlc. Possibly special colors and effects for special abilities and unit kills. They already have emotes to buy, I do not understand why this game can not be like League of Legends or similar games and allow a fair playing field and still make a killing on hardcore fans, which are most of the people who play this game on a daily basis anyways. If you want to make it to the top without paying, you can, but it will be a hard.. and long journey, that unfortunately doesn’t get to be that way for others. But it could be, the developers willing..

    Check your fight replay

I have been playing this game off and on for about 2 years and I always check my fight replay to see what I did right and what I did wrong. I have noticed that the harvesters dig slower if your ahead in the fight. Giving the other side the opportunity to catch up and send soldiers or machines out quickly to balance the fight. The next thing I noticed is the number of power that accompanies the soldier or machine, it’s the number for strength. Like an 8 would not last long if your fighting a 10. But in some instances the lower number will for some reason have more strength and blow a 10 away. Of course some reasons are a strong machine could kill a person no matter the strength number, but I have witnessed this to not always be the case. Another thing I noticed (because it happens to me a lot) are the challenges that come one after another when your getting closer to reaching a higher rank. It’s as though the system is trying to keep you from advancing. The harder it is to advance also has most players buying diamonds and money to upgrade there army, which could be the reason for keeping you from advancing. Don’t get me wrong there are some natural players out there that are the wizards of this game and have advanced in the ranks even though there army has low strength numbers. But I have noticed the difference’s and if you watch your replay videos, you will notice that this is happening.

Fun but yes pay to win! End of story

Now I’m not saying I don’t love the game because I do I just spent my first 20 $ over the last week and am now lvl 10 and in both leagues silver and one gold and can barely compete basically 2 or 3 losses per win. Ima tell you straight out a few tips first play and enjoy the game cuz it’s mostly bots or guys who really don’t give a dam at first who you’ll be playing with this is the best times you’ll .... after you unlock nod at lvl join an alliance this is key and join a big one because you donate cards and they do to so this helps you get the cards without paying and this is when the game becomes major pay 2 play like how I’m having trouble now even 20$ in..so yes you will pay because wen it’s 3,000 credits and 150 cards to level up a rifleman squad by god you will pay or play till next year for them lol now is it fun? Yes does it have robots and cool space vehicles? Yes do you build the base? Not really but yea I guess so...so join an alliance be prepared to spend a little money like I said I spent 20$ and am having a little trouble still which is why I dropped my rating to three star...and pls add campaign like South Park phone destroyer to unlock cards! And increase currency and xp gain per win or just do somerhing where we can get stuff for free I don’t mind paying but 20$ in a still getting rolled on come on EA!thx for reading my long review just wanted it to be honest - Cadillak(in the game)

    Good game play but

With a big selection of units and needing two resources to level up a unit you will be spending money or grinding a long time. How long you grind depends on the level of unit. Early on you get a good amount of resources to level up the fewer starting units but then as your account levels up you unlock more units leading to needing more cards and credits and your reward crates have a chance to drop cards for of every unit you’ve unlocked. You will also face players with units much higher then you. If they are over an average of 1.5 levels above your units it will be a challenge match. Meaning you won’t lose league points but can be very difficult to win. Even units 1 level above yours equals a disadvantage. You can and will beat a lot of these players but you will lose lots. You will also end up with cards for units you didn’t want to use and cannot do anything other then donate very few of them a day to alliance members. They limit how many cards and total donations a day and your frequency of requesting donations is too limited to make a true difference. You use your free daily cloning chamber and daily donation request on the same unit and repeat this every day for three months or longer to get the cards you need to level up one unit one time. And that’s with level 12 units. Wait for the grind to get 13s 14s and maxed 15s.

    Good game, but...

The game is fun, but when I saw the ad, I was thinking of a large scale battlefield with mobile bases and a thousand ways to attack, and the ability to capitalizing on the stats of either the allies, Soviet Union, or the Imperial Empire like in Red Alert, but when I started playing the game, the feeling from the original games when away and left me with an “oh...” kinda feeling, the game itself isn’t that bad, but it barely relates to the original games, the screen is fixed in a certain area without and movement, the bases are fixed in place, the need to build endless fields power plants and other essentials and gone, and it’s purely a capture this point kinda game that personally gets boring really quickly, it’s not so bad that I can’t even look at it anymore and rave about it on Twitter, but it wasn’t nearly what I was expecting and gets boring easily, but at least it brings in new features like personal troop upgrades though, and it’s a red vs blue style game, but I hope that we get a game like that soon where we can rest on feelings nostalgia while besting the Soviet Union at every turn with our friends, or fail and get crushed by the hammer over and over again with said friends. Thank you for reading this review if you did, and I hope I’ve given you guys some new ideas for updates or new games

    Please read before playing

This game has many great aspects in regards to game play and graphics. The parts of the game which are the worst, and almost unplayable, are the matchups and the fact that you almost have to spend money to stay competitive like a month or two into playing. Additionally, when you loose a game it says “mission failed” or “your base has been destroyed” which is infuriating when game after game it matches you with players using maxed cards you haven’t even unlocked yet. Even the cards you do have unlocked are so much higher lvl it’s pointless to even play. I’m not talking some games but game after game of much higher lvls. When you finally get an actual playable match it’s against a much lower lvl player that I’m sure feels the same way and I usually just resign the game...and the cycle continues. Why can’t they match you with players with similar experience and card lvls most games?? There is no leader board to see where players rank and no place other than ladder to practice using new cards unlocked . So basically you have to lvl all cards up to even play with them to see if they even help your decks so if you don’t have patience to build up card levels over a year or two or have $$ to throw away this is prob not the game for you. Just sayin

    What?

I have been playing this for a while. The other day the new boss. Cdr. McNeil appeared in one of my battles even though the match screen in the game says this add in will not be available until December 18. So what’s going on. If this bosses special abilities are what I saw you will need to purchase him because the wave powers he has eats your units up as they pass through it, so it effectively keeps you from getting to the arena without taking major damage. He was able to use this ability several times during the engagement. EA, how can this happen? This is a decent game but you must be prepared to spend 5-10 dollars per month to play it and be able to advance, although you can certainly spend more. If the Cdr. McNeil boss is this strong. I regularly play opponents that are amazingly able to put out multiple top end units against me, where I am lucky to get out one or two. If this happens to you just be confident that they are buying boosts in many cases. Also, on many occasions I have up to 900 points accumulated but still could not send out any units as I waited for a recharge to complete. This game is a challenge but there are many inequities which is part of the money making deal.

    This isn’t command and conquer

I have played this game for a good two weeks and I am disappointed to say this is just not a command and conquer game it doesn’t feel like one instead it feels something akin to clash royal i honestly had fun with the game for the first week but around gold one was we’re I ran into the problem of the enemy having better equipment all around, this continued until I dropped down to gold three most of this was do to me coming across ridiculously high level enemies for we’re I stand, a level ten zone trooper would eat through my level five rhinos time and time again but the worst part was when I dropped to gold three and silver twos had better troops than I did all level wise you only get a crate every four hours and have to progress like mad to get any more or wait to get them as daily rewards. This begs the question we’re are these lower level players getting these high levels, from buying crates no doubt anyone who legitimately grinds this game and has skill most likely will lose to the player who spent fifty dollars on the game and got lucky with the troops he received I know it’s a free to play game but the grind is just absurd. For anyone who truly wants to play a good command and conquer game go onto your computer and go download one there you might actually find quality.

    EA SLAP YOURSELF!!

Total ruin of a long running solid game! DO NOT BOTHER TO DOWNLOAD. Editors choice employees must get unlimited money to spend on a game, or they got paid by EA most likely to say this is a good game... The matchmaking system is complete garbage and in your face obvious when you get to the 1300 plus rank. Challenge match! Challenge match! Then again and again and again against the exact same person who’s so overpowered to you that not a single unit of theirs gets hurt by you. Then you match up against them again for 5 times in a row... basically unless you spend money after getting to rank 1300, your not going to get anywhere. Plus the game has no waypoint mode. Literally a staple of this franchise and I can’t even put one single waypoint in?? Have y’all played C&C ever??? I’m old enough to have played the very first one on pc like 25 years ago.., and IT had a waypoint mode. Anyways doesn’t matter. Your money controlled matchmaker wouldn’t let me even enjoy a waypoint mode if there was one... My last hour playing was spent just surrendering every match so maybe another sucker you got playing this can enjoy a win, and I can think I’m messing w your messed up greedy EA matchmaking. So much bad from EA nowadays it’s pathetic. EA used to be a good company. Now your just plain garbage. Please don’t download this game and waste your time folks. This is NOT the C&C you should expect. It’s EA...

Terrible game don’t waste your time

If your thinking this game is Like Command and Conquer Generals I was sadly mistaken this game is super Lame I am deleting it today not that warpath came out I suggest everyone go play that this game is terrible in the beginning i was dominating the battle field but having control of the missile you can easily win which is so cheesy the battles are way too short I thought they would At least give you time to get Units ready for battle worst game for a mobile app It was a tease because I thought it would be like Generals zero hour or red alert this game is terrible definitely more for kids the battles are too short and my commander has reached level 7 so they usually match me up against very high level units usually with units that are already level 11 and i barley have 1 unit that reached level 8 how is a Level 8 titan supposed to go up against a level 11 titan that makes no sense they completely annihilate you sometimes rushing your base and your harvesters giving you no time too build units and even if you do build a unit they have already built a wall of High Tech Units literally destroying your entire unit with a single shot .. yea Terrible game EA did great with Generals and Zero hour i understand those were computer games but I thought this would at-least be similar .. NO STARS IN MY ERIC CARTMAN voice lol
