    Good but

I liked it at the beginning but you can’t fight back of protect yourself when being attract. You can oh my hit once while the enemy hits you over and over not a fair fight. They graphics are great I love it. But I don’t like that I beat the first fight. All of my heroes are dead the enemy are all dead I am the only one standing. Then on the second round all of enemies are standing against me. It was hard enough to beat them will all of my team mates. Then I end up fighting alone with no life left but the enemy does have full life. It doesn’t make it a fair game. They are able to come at you and hit you three to found times and I can only hit them once. My fight bottoms disappear after I hit them. Like I said I began to like it. But then seeing the is not fair. I was disappointed. You should be able to to defend yourself when you are being attack. I hope they fix it because I kind of like it. I was giving it a three star but I change it to five.

    Not What I Expected

So. I’m looking for a new game right. But I’m short on cash. So. I think. What’s the App Store fit and then I find this game. Age of Magic. And when I get into it. It seems pretty typical. But then I notice the most crucial part to this play style. Balanced availability. In the fact that leveling up isn’t a chore (at least till lvl27, that’s what I am right now) the fact that there’s a myriad of ways in getting the resources needed to level up your hero’s and continue playing the game. Nothing is definitively locked behind micro-transactions. The difficulty and basic look of the game doesn’t seem to bad either. Difficulty racks up for sure but not in a drastic/exponential way. And if the game wasn’t locked behind smartphone capabilities(I.e. graphics) then I’m sure this game could/can have been a decent P.C. potential and console release(change up the combat to make it a bit more engaging). All in all. 5/5 keep up the good work guys.

    Offline mode?

So I’ve played this game for about an hour now, and I think it’s save to say it’s a flawless one. All it needs is an offline mode. Here’s why. When I was playing this, I was just about to finish a level when I got out of Wi-Fi range and the game stopped. It’s not a bad thing that it happened. It just brought up the idea. Why not make this game offline accessible so that, let’s say that a person has little access to the internet, want to play the game. Well now they can! Remember, this is just an idea, but it’ll make a lot of people happy. Including myself. This game is a masterpiece and this little add on will make all the difference. So thank you for reading, and keep up the good work. -Delta On a side note, there are not many offline games WORTH playing. So it would be nice to have a good, free, offline, turn based game like this.

    Work of art

Let me tell you something I tried out this app because it looked sick. When I started the game up I was legitimately stunned by the effort and hard work put into the graphics and effects. The game has storyline and much more. A true work of art. And even the in store purchases are at an absolutely appealing price so the developer did a great job at balancing purchased boosts at a low cost making it easy and appealing for players to help fund the game for fantastic new updates should the developer put lasting effort into this game or even a second one or third. My only request would be create some sort of slow motion kill like watching that blast just crush an enemy sending them to their death is enthralling. Perhaps in a patch and then I’d say this game is all you need. It earned its own spot on my wall keep up the good work

A beautiful world filled with magic.

At its core, Age of Magic is a beautifully crafted turn based rpg-light. Make your way through gorgeous environments all while leveling and gradually increasing the strength of the heroes you inevitable gather. Age of Magic has all the standard monetization of a f2p. Energy, strength walls, and hero’s that seem to take ages to unlock. Aside from iffy monetization, the game is well put together. Pleasant sound, although there could be voice acting implemented in the future. Beautiful environments that mend well with the campaign (many various looks) from iced filled caverns go lush colorful Forrest’s. The hero’s are unique as well. Looking vastly different and each come equipped with three spells. Choice is key. One wrong spell could mean the different between a 2 or 3 star completion. So far I’m enjoying it! I’ve spent some money to support the devs. I enjoy the level up packs that are offered during new hero unlocks. I will continue playing until the inevitable mobile monetization comes crashes down on me. I won’t pay hundreds to unlock new “super cool” characters. I can see this game becoming truly epic as time goes on. Updates and fixes to some systems as well as feedback from its players. Game on!

    Great Game

Really fun game, my favorite in a while. I had been looking for a Turn Based Strategy game like this for a long time, but so many just have an Auto button that fights just as good as you. This has an Auto button, but does not fight as well as you, meaning you have to actually play the mission to get three stars, then you can do them instantly. Lots of gameplay, not pay to win at all, as paying only helps you progress faster. I would like to see implementation of a reward system for players when a friend uses their hero. Then you would have reason to add lower level friends than you other than just being nice. Would like to see faster energy recharge as you have to wait very long in between play times to get full energy. Also it takes a lot of grinding to get enough XP for your hero’s, partially because of the slow energy recharge, but also just because it takes a lot to level them up in the middle levels. All in all, good game, still needs some work. Also excited to see what is coming soon...

    Amazing with flaws

I prefer to start with the cons because when I read comments, I want to know why people don’t like a game more than what they like about it. Keep in mind that I am still giving a 5* (updated to 4) rating even with my current list of Cons. Cons: - Very tedious to get started if you don’t spend real world money. Getting past stage nine takes some grinding. - (Updated: Combat animations are PAINFULLY slow! The game by design already has slow combat with turn-based. Making the animations look like the heroes are in slow motion is going to lose a lot of players. I have played for another couple hours since my initial review and after seeing the animations hundreds of times, I can’t do it anymore.) animations are very slow. The ability to increase the speed of combat animations should be added. It gets very old very not fast. - The story is a little generic (at least so far) with a turn based strategy game the story is what should be the primary motivator to keep playing and it is lacking a little. Not saying it is bad necessarily, but it leaves me wanting more. Pros: - The best turn based game currently available on iOS in my opinion. I have played Summoners War for a very long time and this game has completely replaced it. - Beautifully animated and the cutscenes are really well done. - Characters and skills are really well done. I can relate to the primary character, Roland, and he has a lifelike feel.

    Great graphics, familiar game....

I’ve only put 12 or so hours into the game so far, so this is a rather “first look review”. First thing first, this is basically the exact same model that Star Wars Galaxy of Heroes is built around. Interface, obtaining playable characters through shards, 6 equipment slots to increase stats, bundles to get characters/advance faster, etc. This game is just themed more around magic, has an actual plot and has better graphics. All that being said, it’s a nice little several hour filler (unless you use the auto complete tokens, then you’re basically done for the day in 5 minutes). I’d love to see many more playable characters introduced. There seem to be many “Acts”, or playable areas that introduce other characters, but the pool is limited and when I try to “find” shards there’s no available way to get them for some characters. AoM has started off on a good foot, but their future will be determined by the devs and marketing

    Great game!

The combat in this game is phenomenal! I’ve been looking for a turn based game that didn’t blow. The characters feel like they have weight to their attacks and I love how they are all different. I also love the faction bonuses! I am currently leveling strictly Kobolds and just need the Kobold Boss (forgot his name writing the review). The game isn’t 5 stars however. A few thing set it back a bit for me. The slow leveling of characters can make the game boring after a while because you’ll have to constantly replay levels if you run out of memory spheres. The energy system makes this even longer and, while I’ve been dealing with it, others might not. The last thing are the characters. It will take some time to get the characters you want. I’m still working on the Kobold Boss! All in all, the game is fantastic and I will continue to play for quite some time!

    Mixed feelings

Game with amazing graphics, decent story line going up until individual characters which they could definitely delve a little deeper into each character and backstory instead of putting a clever little line on each character menu that honestly doesn’t do right by connecting the player with the characters. Also they completely botched the pvp system. No way to Manuel set up desired defense . Or make individual characters equipment unique . Each character will have the same set stats and the same set equipment and the same set skills . There is no deviation or choice which makes pvp unique in its own way . Basically if you have the same champion there will be nothing different about them if they have the equipment set . Which is boring in its own right. Lastly it’s broke because of the pvp TIMER . Probably the most aggravating thing about this game. You have 5 minutes to attack another player which some characters can’t even get certain CD skills off in that time and all defenders have to do is stack certain healers like the OP defense Lucky which seems nearly impossible to beat. Everyone just uses the same characters in this matter and it’s utterly exhausting . Good game, definitely needs revised

    Farm potion simulator

Dont get me wrong the game looks and plays amazing, but that is the issue. From the beginning of the game you seem to be progressing fairly stradily as per usual in f2p mobile games but that lasts about as long as an EA executive telling you that they care about player feedback and not money. By the fifth or so mission in the campaign you are now expected to farm up on your previous missions for potions because hey, why play the game and level up your characters later on in the experience like most games when we can get the ball rolling right from the start. Thr game is really well made and it seems very interesting to play from the characters abilities to animations during fights. So why take the best part of what you have and make it so your players just farm 90 percent of the time skipping the actual combat for pitions or that “one piece of gear you need” when im literally i kid u not only level 7. Seriously if you want me to play and not be bored from the get go then at least try and pull me in some more before giving me the WoW experience. In all a great game to play and enjoy. In between the farming and rehashing of previous levels that is.

    Potential, but...

The game has great graphics and it attempts to create a turn-based, tactics interface. The first few levels have mini bosses that eventually join you as a participating party member. When you do, it offers you a one time purchase of $5 to buff the new player. This seems to be a fickle deal because at this early point, I haven’t decided if I like the game yet. And if I ever decide I like the game, the deal has already expired. It turns out that if you don’t purchase these upgrades, the levels quickly become difficult to win—that is, you get stuck at around encounter 7 or 8. But your account levels up quite quickly; and each time you do, you get bonus/surplus energy. So all you can do is regained the old levels repeatedly. The issue I have is that the characters (if you don’t pay $5 each) are quite underwhelming. They require several hits to kill the enemy and they die in a few hits. While most hero games try to make you feel powerful in the beginning and level it off towards the middle, this game makes it difficult from the start. It’s quite possible the game becomes fun and balanced later on, but the slow start doesn’t encourage me to stick it through. On top of that, the menu response time is sort of delayed. It’s not really an issue until you start navigating around. I think the game has potential, but it would benefit from giving users an energetic, exciting boost in the beginning instead of a slow, shaky one.

    Amazing game, slow energy

First, I’d like to say that this game was very well made from the graphics to the gameplay. I was overloaded with energy at the early levels, so I had a blast with grinding out the stages and following the storyline. Especially love the character design and their abilities despite the healer meta (literally cannot progress without 2 healers). I would love to play more and more of the game, but I just can’t. The reason? Energy takes six minutes (SIX MINUTES) to restore just one point. That’s crazy! I literally play for less than 20 minutes, wait 8-9 hours for the energy to refill to full, play for another 10-15 minutes, wait another 8-9 hours, and the cycle continues. At most, I will only get around 40-50 minutes of play time in a day. Some might say, “Just play another game in the meantime” and while I agree with that statement, you risk losing players as they find more interest in other games. Instead of keeping players in the game, the game is pushing them away. It’s a shame that I invested money into the game with Nintendo’s Dragalia Lost around the corner. I would have loved to continue the journey with this game, but an example like just turns me off even more from less notorious mobile companies.

    Does Not Work!

I’ve given this game my money, my time, and access to my entire life according to the privacy settings, and yet I get a blank screen in return. Horrible buggy update today and the game will not even load. I’ve installed and deleted and updated and repeated many times and I’ve gotten nothing for about 10-12 hours. All I’d like is some communication to let me know what’s going on. Their latest post to their twitter page over 12 hours ago said that they had some server problems, but everything is back to normal and working great. Lies. It hasn’t been working for at least the past 10-12 hours. Update your twitter page or FB page or something with some current relevant info. Give us an update on what the heck is going on. And don’t push an update that isn’t ready. Nobody was dying to have this update. We don’t need stupid little in game sounds for every little button we push. They are annoying as heck and it was way better without the little extra annoying sounds. This game is a great game with awesome graphics and great replay-ability. But they charge a lot of money for things in game and for all that money they should at least avoid the amateur hour of having their servers down the entire day with zero communication to their paying players. Rant over. Ps. Why the heck is the dodge rate in ToH so dang hi for the AI but not for me?
