A great game though there are differences between this version and Steam version

I must say this is definitely a well done idle game that definitely follows the show’s formula. Actually, I first played this game before getting started watching the show (I’m already on season 3). Now as much as I like this version of the game also, there is one major thing I like on the Steam version over this version: the ability to tap on the businesses to obtain additional money. If only that feature was added onto this version of the game, I would be much more satisfied with this version and I would appreciate BOTH mobile and Steam versions equally. Also why are the swears censored?!? What’s wrong with you guys?! The Steam version is completely uncensored! So why isn’t this version? Maybe if you put a nudity Easter egg somewhere in this mobile version, I’ll be satisfied tenfold. Either way, good game, ladies and gentlemen. Stay greasy and keep smoking and drinking with the boys

Actually free and not bombarded with ads

This is one of the few games I regularly play. For one, I haven’t spent a single penny on it and still enjoy it (even though you could spend a chunk of money on the game) and it’s not one that you feel like you have to spend money on to enjoy. Secondly, ads don’t really pop up much. I think I’ve had a few pop up, but for the most part they’re optional to get some in game currency. When you do opt to watch an ad it is always a short 30 second one for some sort of ap and isn’t one that you click the x and get sent to the app store. I know those are both big factors for free games, so it’s great on that aspect. On top of that its well put together that it doesn’t freak out and crash or freeze. The game might not be everyones style but overall it’s pretty well put together for what it is.

    Great Game.

I use this game to kill time from time to time, it’s spot on the series of shows so far which is brilliant! I’m sure every TPB fan will download this game. I’ve seen online that some folks take this game “REALLY” seriously like a way of life. LoL I love it but not that much. This is the second time I downloaded the game, The first time I got it shortly after it hit the App Store and made progress to level 28 but got a new phone and it didn’t download my progress, which is no big deal, I can just start over like I do when I watch the entire TPB series every few months on tv. I like the changes to the game, it keeps it real to the show, if your a professional phone gamer you can even spend all kinds of money to get hash coins etc. which seems more like a scam from Julian than Ricky but hey, again it keeps it real to the show.

Played this for a long time but I think it’s time to stop

I really enjoyed this game for a while, but it is nearly impossible sometimes to get the rewards you want during events if you want to get one of the top tier rewards. For example, I really wanted that wedding dress costume for Candy but it was only a reward for the top 1-20 people in your crew during the event, I had already spent money to boost my cash production/automation. I was on vacation and just didn’t want to be bothered to keep clicking on the collect cash button, I would literally have to do it obsessively for hours to even stay in the 11-20 ranking range to get the dress. It just isn’t worth it for me in the long run to spend my hard earned money on a virtual game continuously, when I could pay money to buy a full game I enjoy. It isn’t worth my time either, to just sit there and click the collect cash button because I don’t want to spend my real money. I really enjoyed this game for a while but since they took away the option to download/play apps to get free hashcoins, it became harder to get them and harder for me to get a leg up in the events (now you have to do those surveys with all the stupid popups). It is a shame because I LOVE the design and the work put into coordinating these events...they are great and I always looked forward to them, but I just don’t see myself enjoying the game anymore. I had a good run with it tho, which is why I gave it 4 stars.

    Great but not great

The amount of work that’s clearly put into this is impressive and makes it very fun, especially if you’re a fan of the show. But here’s my thing, the events. So let’s say you just bought a new business (not any specific) and you need the business character cards to upgrade the business. Too easy right?? Well, there’s always 3 different cards you can buy with liquor or whatever the event currency is. Those 3 cards change to different cards every 2 hrs or so. Simple. But the thing is, when you have just bought a new business, the specific character card you need will almost NEVER pop up as one of those cards. But they will always have one of those “greasy deal” things with that card you need. Lol what a coincidence. So you can’t even upgrade that business unless A. You buy the greasy deal, B. You buy hashcoins, or C. I guess you could download a bunch of random apps for a low payout. I don’t wanna sit here and make complaints just to get told “Hey bud! Sorry you don’t like our game! You can make comments and suggestions at wedontactuallycare@tpbgame” or whatever. Like it’s clear what you’re doing. You know people want that certain card to upgrade that business to proceed in the event. And you make it almost impossible to get unless they spend money. So I guess I’m just hoping you’ll come out of this money greedy stage and go back to the fan-based game people love. Take care.

    Greasy, but good TPB clicker

Edit, Edit: As noted in my Edit, I’ve played the Steam version and found it much more enjoyable. That said I did miss playing it on my phone. After finding some helpful tips on a sub Reddit for the game, I like the iOS version much better now. It’s still greasy, it’s still a grind, but way more fun. Do yourself a favor and lookup game tips and most of all stack your cards! Edit: I stand by my original review below, but I would like to add that I’ve played the Steam version and it’s wayyyyyyyyy better. Sure it’s still a repetitive clicker game, but there are no ads and there are additional features like being able to click on properties to gain additional currency. It all makes it much more enjoyable. My recommendation for the developers is to incorporate some of those features into the iOS version and/or offer it as $1-2 upgrade. Original review: It’s just the usual town builder freemium game. Fun for about an hour because it’s Trailer Park Boys, then it’s just a grind and boring.

    The Events

If I’m being completely honest the events are to hard. I can’t tell if I’m going against AI or real players that play this game all the time. I go to sleep for on event and I’m 8th in the leaderboard but then when I wake up a couple hours later I’m a 120th on the leaderboard now. Please this game is time consuming enough and don’t get me wrong I love the game and love the show. But it feels like in order to get in top 50 of the leaderboard you have to play all the time like nonstop or buy enough stuff with hash coins that are really hard to get already to automate the business in the game that is the only way to be able to maintain and even still because the other players or AI are playing for 12 hours straight with upgrading constantly. And for being in the top 100 out of a very popular game it should be more rewarding then giving us one rare card and 100 liquor. Please the events are to hard.

Like Gettin 2 Birds Stoned at Once

This game is hilarious and brings back a lot of good memories. It has a few flaws though. When you don’t have the correct amount of liquor to upgrade a character, the game will ask if you want to purchase the liquor with hash coins with a convenient, quick-buy pop-up table. However, the amount of hash coins the quick-buy table requests is MUCH more than if I purchased the liquor outright in the store. I will never take that deal. I like the side-challenges that sprout up constantly, but they all have an obvious paywall. You’ll be rewarded but you’ll never, ever be able to reach the top tier rewards within the time limit without spending money. I don’t even know if it’s possible to reach this level if you played 24/7. Still, it is optional and there is no real paywall for the game. It would be nice to be able to purchase these characters with hash coins. I’ll also never spend my money to “gamble” on a prize with a spin wheel or anything. If I pay real money, I want the item I spent money on, not a chance to win it If you like

    Mediocre

The show is awesome. The characters brilliant. The app. Leaves a lot to be desired maybe my expectations are too high. Just seems like another generic pay to win or it becomes and endless grind to get anywhere. The ratio of dollar to hash coin (in game currency) is WAY out of balance I feel. That said, the concept and people that have created the show have my utmost respect. Every series was brilliant and I can't wait for season 12 to air. The game has made some interesting changes with all the new events with the hash coins (over priced and valued) are becoming less awarded through hard grinding leaving the only option to “pay to win”.... we understand we are all here to make money but this aspect kills it for me. I stick around this app because it’s a time killer but I promise I won’t pump another dollar (under 40$) ever into this game with its current arrangements. I do respect the creators of the show (not necessarily the game) and wish the highest success as I feel they are genuine in what they do. The dev’s for the game did a great job “quoting” the original show but that’s the only originality that’s offered in game. The concept and platform is unoriginal. Please take this as constructive and in no way is designed to be ugly or hurt anyone’s feelings on what may have been hard work creating. Good luck with the new developments, I’ll stick around to see what happens hopefully.

    Too many bugs

I downloaded the game the first day it cane out and played it every single day until about December of 2018 and then I stopped for a few months. There were just too many bugs. I finally started it back up a few months back and the bugs have only gotten worse. The app crashes too often and for some reason when you just click out if the app (not closing it) or sometimes when you swipe up to close, it will freeze in the closing process...and it will happen with other apps you might try to close too. Also, if you’re trying to click on another app. This should not happen and it’s been an issue for several months. I believe I am around level 110 now...maybe even slightly higher and it’s just becoming increasingly difficult and too long to complete missions. Characters need to be around level 16-19 and they need about 80-90 cards and over 2000 liquor. At the rate you can get liquor and cards it’s just become a bit boring. I love the contests and they’re fun but the regular seasons becoming too difficult and pro-longed to get through and the bugs have easily decreased my review of this game.

    FIX THE ADS

It’s bad enough you need to watch so many ads in this game, like countless other free games, but somewhat recently the ads have completely broken. I’ve now gotten the “No Ads Available” pop-up more times in the last few weeks than I have the multiple months I’ve been playing the game. Once you can actually get the “Watch Ad” screen to pop up, whether it be for the free 15 liquor (which is a pathetically low amount) or the Double Money one, you’re taken to a still screen of the ad with a little Play button in the middle, implying you click to start the ad, but you can’t click it. The ad sits there, not playing. You can’t exit out, and it won’t play regardless of how long you wait, so you’re left with no choice but to restart the app. You don’t get the ad bonus, and the cycle starts anew: “No ads available” followed by ads that won’t play. As I said, this problem hasn’t surfaced until semi-recently, so I’m not sure which update brought on this bug but it needs to be fixed ASAP.

    Ads scam

First let me start by saying the game is great. Sure there is a lot repetition but somehow it still draws you in. Lately however it seems that it’s becoming more money hungry. Whereas before the events were scarce, now as soon as one ends another one begins. With this (and in general) comes opportunity to earn extra in-game currency by watching ads, downloading apps, or making purchases. And this is where everything goes wrong. The whole system is broken. Often times watching ads crashes the game or just doesn’t register causing frustrations. There’s been times when I spent weeks completing an offer and no reward has been received. In last case I contacted the devs and all they could do was point the finger at their vendor (iron source). Contacting iron source is yet another wave of frustrations. It takes them weeks to respond (in my last case nearly 3 weeks) stating that they need info which was already submitted to them twice! And now by the looks of it they are taking their time again. So for those who do complete offers (or spend money to complete offers) be very careful as its a hit/miss situation at which point there’s nothing you can do. Other than that again, it’s a really fun game that will keep you coming back for more.

Getting very frustrated.... opening doesn’t load... unable to retrieve rewards...

This game has been going downhill since I spent some money on it. When I upgraded to XS Max.... there’s obviously no support for the screen size as I have to minimize to see my hash coins. Not a huge deal. Then I got to level up and after the title for the next episode comes up, you just get a blank black screen... so the opening story is gone. Annoying, but thought, okay... new device, it will be updated soon. NOW I have a “collect rewards” button left from the last event I could do. I was hoping it would change to a new event, go away or work after another episode level up.. nope. And I finally came in here to find out how to report to the developer and got their website. Says to go into the gear icon in the app itself and go to Help and Contact Support. Fine. Go to do that, Contact Support doesn’t do anything either. I tap it and it “presses” then... nada. Lol My fault for spending money on this game.. I’m really ticked though. Maybe actually fix it? I miss all the opening story scenes (the ones within the episode and the episode endings work fine) and now I’m ticked I’ve missed my event rewards and maybe additional events.

    Finally went full blown p2w

Now to update my last review. Last time I complained about my event experience I was replied with it was a new style event and may have been the reason for my bad experience. So yet again - the newest event about to conclude and I invested right at almost 200 hashcoins knowing the 4th from the last reward was 120 and for all together total of 160. Willing to lose 40 saved coins to advance and maybe collect the higher reward cards. So now, my current balance is 29 coins and I will not reach the 120 coin milestone reward, nor the other 3-4 still left to go, yet I am ranked 5th among 200 other people my same level the day in the global. Do I really need to explain the math for anyone to not see the p2w setup regardless of 2hr interval investment logins? Side note - even lacking whatever currency for the event, say you was 10 “chicken fingers” short - they want to charge you 40 hashcoins (not sure exact exchange rate) instead of you just purchasing a 350 currency chest for 35 coins. The math is outa wack and a clear attempt of taking advantage in my eyes. This 2nd time of event advancement has brought clarity - water under the fridge, time to move on.
