Video Manual: How to Use the Albion Online App

How does it Work?

Albion Online is a cross-platform sandbox MMORPG set in an open medieval fantasy world. The game features a player-driven economy where nearly every item is player-crafted. Combine armor pieces and weapons suited to your playstyle in a unique, classless "you are what you wear" system. Explore the world, take on other adventurers in thrilling battles, conquer territories, and build a home.

CROSS-PLATFORM PLAY: Albion Online is a true cross-platform MMO experience. Whether you prefer PC or mobile, one account lets you play on all platforms, with all players on a single shared server.

PLAYER-DRIVEN ECONOMY: From basic tools and clothes to mighty armors and powerful weapons, nearly every item in the game is crafted by players, in player-constructed buildings, from resources gathered by players. Buy, sell, and trade at local marketplaces all across the world of Albion. Craft rare and powerful items, then sell them to the highest bidder and grow your fortune.

YOU ARE WHAT YOU WEAR: In Albion Online's classless combat system, the weapons and armor you use define your skills, and switching playstyles is as easy as switching gear. Test out new equipment anytime and change up your weapons, armor, and mounts to suit any situation. Hone your character’s skills by crafting new items, or by simply using your favorite equipment.

PREPARE TO FIGHT: Test yourself against other adventurers in high-risk, high-reward full-loot fights. From solo to small-group to large-scale battles, you'll need strategy, tactics, and skill to prevail. Level your combat specializations, create unique builds with complementary skills, and use every tool at your disposal to emerge victorious. Enter the Crystal Realm and fight 5v5 or 20v20 battles for massive rewards.

CONQUER THE WORLD: Join a guild and carve out your own piece of Albion in massive open-world battles. Claim territories for access to incredible resources, construct guild halls, build Hideouts, and track your progress against other guilds worldwide on the leaderboards. Join a City Faction, climb the ranks, and take part in continent-wide Faction Campaigns.

PUT DOWN ROOTS: Claim a city plot or private island and make it your own. Grow crops to sell or make into food, raise your own livestock and mounts, and build crafting stations for private or public use. Stock your house with custom furniture, trophies, and chests to store your growing collection of loot. Hire and train laborers to keep everything at your homestead running smoothly.

FACE DEADLY FOES: From small scouting bands to massive bosses, the inhabitants of Albion’s open world await your challenge. Take on six different factions, each with unique enemies that require their own strategies. Partake in solo or group Expeditions, or seek out the ultimate thrill by facing demons and other players alike in Hellgates and Corrupted Dungeons.

EXPLORE A VAST WORLD: Explore five vivid biomes, where you can gather raw materials for crafting or cast a line into Albion's waters to catch fish. Seek out solo and group dungeons with powerful foes and lucrative rewards. Enter the mystical Roads of Avalon to discover ever-changing paths between distant zones.

One of the best games I've played.

To be honest I really enjoy this game. The playstyle is very easy and entertaining. The game does a lot of good things and can catch just about anyone with everything you can do in the game. Whether it's wanting to pvp, the game has a excellent pvp system but could use more variety. The weapons in my opinion closely balanced. I've used about every type and can still do a build worth doing. If you want to pve, it has hidden dungeons, expeditions, camps and forts to fight. It's very nice and group friendly if you struggle on anything your friends or guild can help. If pvp or pvp aren't your thing there is the gathering/crafting side as well. On top of that there is also building on your personal island or farming/breeding to make money or cooking. The game has multiple aspects which makes this game incredible. But I would agree the game needs to work on the farming times. They are a bit too long to really consider it anything of use. The game does have its ticks but that's every game. You won't find another game that is this will put together. If course it still needs work but that's any game. 5/5 for me would recommend to anyone and everyone.

Love it, but it needs things

First off, this is exactly the sort of game I was looking for. You can create your own story, and there is no junk story you are trying to follow (most MMO use the “chosen one” model, even though you are one of millions of players). There are a few things I would like to see. 1. It should not cost so much to make small visual changes to characters or guild banners, etc. Such changes are oddly expensive. I’d make vanity items more expensive, and allow players to modify characters and guild stuff with a bit less expense. I mean 1000 gold to change a color on a guild banner? That seems a bit steep. Especially considering I bought a rare mount for WAY less. 2. A vanity item should ALWAYS show up. When you go adventuring, vanity items held in your hands (at least off-hand ones) seem to revert to the actual item held in that hand. Since you should likely be adventuring a good deal of the time, that makes certain vanity items almost pointless to purchase. 3. Duels can get very impactful, even when you are not involved. If enough people are dueling near you, the game can get VERY laggy. Not sure what a good fix for this is, but having one’s ability to actually play the game being affected by other people dueling all over is a bit frustrating. 4. I really wish the camera had more adjustment. Not being able to move the camera around is truly annoying. All in all though, this is THE BEST MMO on iOS, and by quite a margin. I am thoroughly enjoying it!

Easily one of the greatest MMORPGs in history.

This game stands up to Ultima Online and RuneScape and smiles in the face of their legacy. I remember when this game released over five years ago on PC (or around five years ago). It was clunky but the developers promised they would give every ounce of energy into this game. It saw dips and peaks in population until their hard work started paying off. Players saw the devotion of the dev team as they continually released high quality content each and every patch. And here we are. The promised iOS patch. This game is in it for the long haul and if you haven’t joined yet, the time is now. Be part of an MMO where you actually matter. No “Kill the rats” quests. No handholding. Community matters in this MMO and what you do actually affects the world. This game is a grind, but if you’re up for the challenge and willing to work alongside others, you will have nights you will never forget with some absolutely wonderful people. This is one of the greatest games I ever played. Enjoy.

    Well put together mmo

Love this game so far, they give three days premium to try the game once you leave the starter area and pick from multiple starting points. Cost as much as a regular mmo, I would love to see a la cart options such as one day, three day or one week premium deals. They said silver or gold can buy options somewhere but I don’t know the pricing and don’t see that option, probably because still in trial intro three day premium. Enjoy it at premium at least, not sure what restrictions are on free to play. In the starter area the cost to repair is high, even out of that it is high, most the time it is better to craft or just buy new gear, at least in the beginning. If your fan of mmo’s chances are it’s worth a try, see if you like it, I currently do. MMORPG equals massive multiplayer online role playing game

    Speechless

I’m new Albion playing on mobile about four days in and I’m completely blown away. The game runs wonderful even though my phone doesn’t have the recommended ram it is very very in frequent that I ever get kicked out. The amount of content variety of things to do number of weapons PVE extremely competitive PVP is astounding it seems this is the full-fledged PC version which is blowing my mind there’s a lot to digest but the In game chat help is almost instantaneous and wonderful! it is completely possible to be a free to play and you can even get premium by using in game currency if you’re willing to work for it it’s worth getting at least one month of premium so you can get a private island and then even if you stop you get to keep your island I am beyond impressed.

    Phenomenal phone MMO

And cross plat? Can’t ask for more. They have a passion for their game & it shows. It’s only going to be improved more & more, adding all kinds of content for FREE. You can easily pay for premium w in-game earned $. RuneScape feels bad to play on mobile, this does not. It’s currently the best experience you can get. They’ve been working on this one for many years before releasing for mobile. You can tell they wanted to make sure its well optimized & maintains the smooth game play from its OG PC version. Props and a job well done to the developers. Y’all deserve my first mobile game review, you guys earned it! Don’t hesitate to at least give it a try, chances are you’ll play even if just casually. It really is perfect for both hc and casual players, at least IMO!

    Much better than I anticipated

I have played AO since beta. I have been waiting a long time for this port and was consistently disappointed when it took so long to come out. I have to say, I can see you put an immense amount of work into this port. The controls are intuitive and butter smooth, aside from adjusting from muscle memory due to playing with a mouse and keyboard this is a very successful and well executed launch onto the IOS. Great job people. As others have mentioned this allows grindy tasks like farming and gathering not feel like wasted time better spent on PvP and doing dungeons etc. a mouse and keyboard, IMHO are still superior when it comes to finesse and ganking/ZvZ but man... this is game changing for QOL in AO. I applaud all of you at SBI who worked on it.

    Great game!! No p2w! Fun!

I love these sandbox games. I have played Albion online on PC off and on for a few years and eagerly awaited this mobile release. I love being able to contribute towards my character doing a solo dungeon here, an arena there, do some crafting or island stuff, etc. Can’t comment on playing only on mobile, but the combination of the two is great. Yes it can be full loot pvp in certain areas. It’s not as bad as it sounds. Your mentality has to be different. You don’t rock the best armor you can afford. You rock the best armor you can afford to replace 10x. Losing stuff and gaining stuff is half the fun of the game. You can do things entirely in safe places with instanced dungeons and safe harvesting, but the fun stuff comes with the danger.

Great game but a little buggy

This game is very fun like very very fun and a lotAddicting to play once I get in the gameIt’s just that every time I log into like cities and towns and where all the players be it’s a little buggy and once I get away from that the gameplay is smooth I just wanted to see if you guys can fix it if y’all can that will be very helpful I don’t get my PC till the end of this year so I can’t play the PC part of this game I really really want to play this game once I found out there was a mobile port I was so excited I just wanted to see if you guys can fix the buggy cities that will be helpful

Awesome game! But not so great community

Really loved how you can be who ever you wanna be and how you get to take part of the market. However, the community is not quite as I thought. Must of the time you’ll see people criticizing your build and guild members making you feel like you’re part of the guild without the companionship/fun part and just make you do stuff. At times you’ll find a lot of hackers where you would normally go to loot. I have around 4 days worth of playing it and this are some of the issues that I and a handful of people had to deal with. Despite all of this, I really loved this RuneScape game style tbh. Though there’s a couple of things that you shouldn’t even try to do because of the bigger guilds and the veterans who started since beta. At the moment, it’s a waste of time to spend time crafting equipment or buying a store because of the cartel that exists in the game and the bigger players trying to run any kind of business out. The way you progress is very satisfying. It follows this ideology that practice makes perfect which really suits it. You will try to specialize on your equipment slowly while you unlock new tiers or rarity of equipment that you can equip. Wouldn’t recommend playing solo. If you’re playing with a handful of people, stick with them and don’t interact with others since there have been cases of people joining groups just to tell the assassin where you are.

    Would give 4.5 stars

I’ve been playing this game for about 3 weeks now and it’s incredible. You can get this thing called premium and it gives better QOL improvements. Best of all you don’t even have to pay real money!! Obviously the option is there but for a hefty amount of silver (the currency in the game) you can get premium. The best thing about this game is that the whole economy is based on the player base. The way money is brought into the game is by killing mobs but when you buy things the person who receives the silver loses money through tax to keep the economy from overflowing. AND every armor that you bought was ONCE made by a player which is so cool!! MY ONLY COMPLAINT is that it crashes sometimes but it’s not very often; however, it is noticeable. This is my first MMO so I can’t really compare it to the others but this game is amazing I highly recommend you try it!!

So glad it’s here on mobile, but some issues…

Firstly to start I just want to say that I love this game. This is a long review/rant. You have been warned. Truly this is a full PC game experience designed for mobile, and man. Does it deliver! There is one issue that I have experienced almost daily and that does prevent me from rating this at 5* due to this. I remember on my old Samsung, with a tiny screen, figuring a way to play Albion on mobile years before this app was made. Gotta say. I love the official app, but there is some lethal if not gamebreaking crashes I have experienced on occasion. This will be Mainly when changing zones or when loading destiny tree the app will completely crash and close out without any warning or error message displaying. This is honestly a pretty major issue, to the point that if I did not enjoy this game so much it would cause me to quit most other games… When the game crashes due to changing zones this tends to fatal and incredibly devastating in the Red and Black zones. Literally when being chased by a Zerg you are terrified and having the app close on you when you are still being pursued, but narrowly escaping causes your heart to just sink. I really hope this bug is resolved as it is gamebreaking and costly especially.

    Reconnecting

I constantly have this issue where i have to “reconnect” to the server causing me to get 15 second cooldowns as if im just entering the zone. I have more issues with this when i am on wifi at 40 ping than i do when im on mobile internet at 100 ping at least make it make sense. There is no reason for me to get 15 second cooldowns during a fight because the servers are just bad. I haven’t actually had this kill me in pvp until today and its just as enraging as you can imagine. I’m cooling at 40 ping trying to gank a solo dungeoner and bang reconnecting game comes back im missing half my hp and 15 second cooldowns. I was easily willing the fight he was 1/4th hp so why am I reconnecting or have connection problems at 40 ping on wifi but have less problems on 100 ping mobile data idk but something has to be done about the servers because its just terrible. This isnt just somebody hating its a mobile version of a pc game its not supposed to be perfect, I understand the crashing during FvF or ZvZ you cant expect a phone to load all of that (i have iphone 11 htw) but in the open world when im pveing or doing small solo or group pvp when my screen isnt covered in effects I expect to be able to play and not be lagging at 40 ping somehow.

    Be warned

Typical money grab game. Great game when it first started but now they only care about your money. No customer support, they will tell you to contact customer support by email which never gets answered. Which you will see in their reply. If you do play, play a melee style character.... this game has turned into the typical stealth kill game where you see the opponent for about 8-10 seconds for the duration of the fight and they can kill you without any effort. Or roll a bow character, they can kill casters without any skill just stand still and press 3 buttons. If you want to even enjoy the game a little don’t be a caster type, this game does not play well for magic style casters. Remember it’s a mobile game and they nerf casters so that it can be melee mobile friendly. RIP to anything that needs a magic staff. And be careful about giving money to people or accepting money from people. They will ban you with out just cause and not care at all how much evidence you give them to show your side. They just keep your hard earned money and time. This game is a mobile game now and should be treated as one. Great to play for free but do not by gold in game. The devs can not be trusted to be fair.
